Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) test

If I do this am I likely to see my TSH test result higher or lower than previously?

My latest test results are TSH .248 (.450 - 4.50) FT3 2.4 (2.0 - 4.4) FT4 1.68 (.82 - 1.77) Past 6 weeks taking 100 mcgs of T4.

I attach history of results and in 2010 my TSH was 1.8 so guess this is my base /normal functioning level.

My tsh levels etc previously been a bit up and down. From July this year Tsh 2.6 mu/l. ( 0.55-4.78) Free T4 16.5 pmol/l. ( 11.5 - 22.7) Free T3 5.1. pmol/L ( 3.5 - 6.5) September this year Tsh 2.72 pmol/L ( 0.55-4.78) T4. 15.3 pmol/L.

I had a total thyroidectomy 20 years ago due to thyroid cancer, so my tsh levels are kept very low, usually 0.03 or sometimes even lower. As I have high cholesterol recently I was put on atorvastatin. Bloods were checked today and tsh has gone up to 2.75 though still in range.

Free T4 19.5 10.8 - 25.5 (59.2%) Free T3 6.1 3.1 - 6.8 (81.1%) TSH 0.002 (0.27-4.2) So, the consultant who managing my pregnancy did an unexpected tsh and T4 test at 2pm (so about 12 hours after my dose of levo and lio). It showed that I was over range and suppressed tsh.

TSH 5.050 t3 3.45 t4 1.17 These are the results of my 32year old daughter whose doctor is saying she might need meds. What are your thoughts?

Just had bloods redone and results are: T4 15.9 (11.9-21.6) T3 4.4 (3.9-6.8) TSH 2.69 (0.27-4.20 (Before T4 was 11.4 and TSH was 4.16) I haven't got an appointment with my end for another 4 weeks as he's away. What dose do you think I'll end up being on? 75 ? Would 100 be too high?

I started on levo 5 or more years ago and despite being moved up to 100 dose I have never had my TSH come down much if anything below 3. Numbers for the other thyroid tests have been OK and GP would not plan to amend dose unless TSH raised above 5.

I have hashimotos and know this causes the tsh to go up, but thought it was strange as I’ve managed to get my antibodies right down almost into remission, so thought that would help improve my tsh if anything? Many thanks

I'm trying to find research to show to my GP (in the UK) regarding TSH levels. My understanding is that 'healthy' individuals would have a TSH of around 1, but the 'tolerance' threshold in the UK seems to be higher (e.g.

Is there data/medical papers I can give my doctor as to why T3 is suppressed on combination therapy? I have tried looking at the Nice guidelines but they all seem against using combination therapy.Thanks Sue

TSH 0.32 (-65%) 0.35-4.94 T4 15.3 (62.38%) 9-19.1 T3 4.3 (52.78%) 2.4-6.0 TSH was flagged as Abnormal so GP will mention that - it was 1.08 in Feb and 1.25 last October (same ranges) but no T4 or T3 tested.

The doctor lowered my dose to 125 because my T4 was above the limit despite TSH being high!

Keep being told by GP that my TSH is in normal range!. Should I be asking for other tests? My latest tsh result was 2.3.I am also on 25mg of letrozole for breast cancer. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Just got a blood test on 150mcg after 9 weeks (after that 137.5mcg for 6 weeks where TSH was 6) TSH 1.09 FT4 14 (9-19) FT3 4.7 (2.6-5.8) I am seeing an endocrinologist tomorrow - taken about 8 months to see one (Canada). I still don't feel "normal" like I did prior, but I have improved.

‘We continue to disagree about the relative roles of TSH and T3/T4 levels in thyroid monitoring. Being on T3 does not automatically make your TSH undetectable. Hypothyroidism secondary to Hashimito's thyroiditis does not make your TSH undetectable in itself.

I undertook a blood test in July with Hertility to check testosterone, AMH etc and was surprised to find my TSH was higher than expected: 2.79mIU/L. The Hertility Dr reviewing the results said I should speak to my GP as my TSH should be below 2.5mI/UL to get pregnant.
