Tresiba

My PCP put me on Tresiba (degludec) insulin. I was on that for ~8 months until i finished with the obinutuzumab infusions and came off the insulin with daily glucose readings in the 140's - 150's.

Hi, I have had type 1 diabetes for a couple of years I am now on insulin tresiba 18 units, since Xmas my levels have been high 19/20 constantly the diabetic nurse has also put me on novarapid 4 units 3 times a day which didn't help, im now on 10 units and my blood sugar readings are still very high

Given that I weigh now 320 lbs, am diabetic type II taking Tresiba, Humalog, and Januvia for diabetes; and also have cardiovascular disease (stent plus beginning of CHF), and now Stage III B kidney disease, anemia, and thrombocytopenia, I am not a candidate for a liver or kidney transplant.

Previously I was using 3 Medicines plus Insulin( Janumet 100/1000 one per day, Victoja 1.2mg perday and Tresiba 12 Units per day). Now I am on Victoza 1.2mg once and metformin 2000mg per day. However I request members to share their opinion/knowledge on the following issues. 1.

The present medication is Victoza 0.6mg (Liraglutide) once in a day, Tresiba 12 units (degludec) once in a day, Metaformin 1000mg SR twice in day and glimperide 1mg twice in a day.  My present FBS is 105 and PPS is around 150. My HbA1C is 7.2.  My TSH is 5.9 and T3 is 99 and T4 is 6.6.   

Insulin tresiba flex touch 40 units at bed time. Apart from all these taking diabetplus ayurvedic tabs 2 in the morning and 2 at night. My fbs bet 130 and 160. Pp bs bet 140 and 170. Hba1c 6.9. Need your help if possible. Also want to try long wheat.

Can we replace normal insulin with this tresiba insulin?What is the merits of it? As traveler, any benefits with the use of this insulin?
