ADT Holiday to Locate and Zap Metastases?
My RO has suggested I might wish to consider an ADT holiday and then, when PSA reaches a sufficient level (1.7?), doing an axumin scan. If there are no bone or non-lymph visceral mets, then radiate the pelvic lymph nodes. This was in response to my question about maybe just radiating them now. I will

More proof that results of SBRT are equivalent to IMRT (yet faster and cheaper)
I am pleased that SBRT was my choice of primary therapy 8 years ago. The randomized comparisons are showing that it is at least as beneficial as IMRT, but it takes only 4 or 5 treatments and costs a lot less too. Here are the results of two more randomized clinical trials so far: https://pcnrv.blogspot.com

Has anyone experienced an under active thyroid while on Lupron? If so, how was it treated?
My husband, diagnosed 12/2017, RP 12/2017 (pelvic region was full of cancer - prostate, seminal vesicles, and many nerves removed. Cancer found in several lymph nodes and neck of bladder), PSA at diagnosis 12, Gleason 9, IMRT fall 2018, has been on Lupron since January 2018 with an undetectable PSA

After a month of radiation I was getting extreme pain during defecation, particularly bad was uncontrollable spasms in my butt during defecation and even during urination. No one told me about changing diet till now. Anyway, problem fixed, almost instantly, by taking Imodium (with simethicone) which

I'm new here, but been reading for a while! Really need help from all the knowledgeable people here!
My husband was dx with aggressive PC July 2014 at age 57 by 12 core prostate biopsies - 6 on left negative, 6 on right side all with high Gleason scores 3+4, 4+3, 4+3, 4+4, 4+5, 4+4. PSA was only 3.2 but had risen from 2.5 in only 3.5 months so PC was suspected. Due to high GS decided on RP using Robotic

PSMA Scan and HU Altered my Treatment Plan
Thanks to an NIH Clinical Trial and sage advice rendered and received on this forum my treatment plan has changed. I have gone from waiting for my PSA doubling time to reach a critical level to moving forward with aggressive treatment in hopes of beating or beating back my PCa. My background is: RP

PSA and testosterone post radiation
Completed 25 IMRT (45 Gy) and brachtherapy "boost" (110Gy, 39 seeds) with ongoing Firmagon/Eligard (5 mos thus far. Btw, hate the hormones.) Most recent PSA 0.1 and testosterone <3. Methinks both numbers are unreliable given continued hormone therapy but who knows? Anyone out there with similar experience

Initial Diagnosis PCa Stage 4 Mets to Bone (Pelvis)
Age 68 at diagnosis July 2018, prostate biopsy showed 12 segments positive, Gleason=8, subsequent biopsy of pelvis bone positive. Stage 4 metastatic at original diagnosis probably attributed to no PSA test for several years. On degarelix 3 months then switched to Lupron 1 week ago and will continue

Statins
I would appreciate any comments from you all on the pros and cons of statins. I am 5 years post op, 67 years old and have made a reasonable recovery. I recently had a blood test which showed my healthy cholesterol at 2.51 and my ‘bad’ cholesterol at 4.3. My Q risk is 13.5%. These numbers mean nothing

Kidney biopsy AV Fistula
So after I got my kidney biopsy on Monday I ended up with a AV fistula. They went in the groin and put a coil in to just stop the blood flow between the vein and artery. I think it is called a renal embolization. Has anyone else been through this ? How was your pain after? I am on day 4 and I am feeling

LDL paradox
Hi, last September (2018)I went on a plant/fish diet, dropping milk/meat/eggs to try to reduce my cholesterol, which was at that time: - TC: 209 HDL: 54 TG: 71 LDL: 138 Last week, after four months on PF diet, I was expecting TC to drop to about 180, and here's what I got-- LDL went up 20 pts!

Hydrocephalus
I know I’m in the wrong group. Is there a group for those with hydrocephalus? I haven’t had surgery, just MRIs and a lumbar puncture. I have two out of three of the primary symptoms: imbalance and incontinence. So far, no loss of cognitive function. Where should I be? Thanks!
