Hi there. My blood test results for cholesterol came back about 2-3 months ago and my cholesterol level skyrocketed from 6.4 up to 9.6 and i'm only 19. Is it common to have heart disease this early? Unfortunately high cholesterol is inherited from my mothers side but for a 19 year old I fear a cholesterol

Today's "Report Card" 2 mos. into Zytiga/Pred added to Lupron
My husband and I saw Dr. Matthew Smith at Mass General today. Everyone's satisfied with the trend: the 1.8 PSA today dropped down from 4.08 on 2/28/19. This is nine weeks after Zytiga/Prednisone was added to Lupron on 2/9/2019. I recently added Alkaline Phostaphase data to the signature below. Here's

DR ELLIE CANNON: Is my GP on the level about cholesterol?
Here is an interesting Q&A: Q. I recently had a cholesterol test and it showed a reading of seven, which my GP considered to be within acceptable limits. I questioned this, saying that I thought anything over five was considered high. I am 63, slightly overweight, have normal blood pressure and stopped

To Fat or not to Fat?
Hi, I have dieted on and off for years and have had the “Low Fat” is best message tattooed on my brain. However I know that thought on this are changing. With high cholesterol I thought reducing Lipids is a good idea by adopting low fat diet and exercising. I am aware of healthy fats such as nuts, oily

Post radiation psa levels
Nine months out from IMRT my psa results have dropped quarterly from 3.6 to 2.1 to 1.75 but recently only dropped to 1.68 a tiny amount. Apparently the prostate dying is the cause for the decreasing levels. My question is should I not be taking vitamins etc that protect myself from radiation as these

To Go Public or Not
In a recent thread, an off-topic conversation started that deserves discussion. Specifically, whether or not I, or you, or anyone else having an unfortunate medical condition, should go public with that information. Let me introduce myself. My name is Cary Jensen, and I was diagnosed with prostate cancer

Role of dietary fibre on LCHF Diet
As followers of LCHF diet, we are sometimes concerned about reduced intake of dietary fibre. We take some supplements also to make-up the shortfall. Here is a presentation on the subject by Dr. Paul Mason, which I think may be of interest to group members following LCHF. https://youtu.be/xqUO4P9ADI0
