thyroid and fertility
hi, I wanted to some advice. I’ve been trying to conceive for 2 years and I have had 3 failed ivf cycles in this time also. I’ve had 7 blood tests to test My Tsh levels which have ranged from 2.6-1.4 in this time. My Tsh level seems to consistently be around 2.4. Could this be effecting my fertility

Is there any scientific evidence showing that TSH is often suppressed when taking T3?
Patients taking T3 know that their TSH is very often suppressed. Some doctors seem to accept this is ok, if T4 and T3 are not too high/over range. But - does anyone know of any studies showing this does happen? It would be great to have something to quote back to doctors who don't accept it.

Genuine NDT source please
I'm starting again slightly differently 🤭 Could people please pm me with their trusted sources of genuine NDT please? Usual story - I've had several clueless GPs, cant get a referral for love nor money as my results don't warrant it, tsh only of course because symptoms are put down to stress and a

Endo appointment and liothyronine
Hello all, My endocrinologist appointment is coming up soon. I have had the blood test, but typical NHS they only test TSH. My endo said, last time that I spoke to her, which was in June, she said my TSH was coming down and I may or may not, need an increase next appointment. Whilst I have been very

Seeing endo unexpectedly and have private blood test on the way!!!
I saw my gp (see prev post if interested) last week but got nowhere with T3, just the usual comment that T4 is too high. But because I pointed out endo was going to see me in a year and it was now 18m and parathyroid blood test hadn't been done properly last time (I have high calcium) I asked her to

GP wants to lower my Thyroxine dose due to low TSH
Hi everyone I hope you are all doing well. It’s been a while since I have had to post anything but yesterday I had a call from my GP as my TSH is showing as “low” at 0.19 I tried to explain that this is “normal” for me, although it is slightly lower than my last test. I had this issue about 3 years

Increase levothyroxine or add liothyronine
Results on 75 levothyroxine TSH 0.84(0.4-3.7) Ft3 3.6 (3.5-6.5)Ft4 14 (12-22) Would you increase levo to 87,5 or add 5 mcg liothyronine? Which would make most difference to TSH do you think 5 mcg T3 or 12.5 T4?

GP reducing Levo dose based on blood tests only. Need evidence/papers to show under dosing is potentially harmful too
Update March 2024: I finally saw a Prof of Endocrinology in December 2023 , who determined I did need Liothyronine. A shared care agreement was arranged with my GP and finally last week I started on a trial of Liothyronine. Thank you to everybody who responded and all information supplied. Knowledge

Wow the NHS has been a joke for me.
So hi anyways I’m 22 guy diagnosed with hypothyroidism that’s been very up and down. Onto the point, so I was going back through my nhs records for blood results so on two separate occasions in 2015 and 2017 so when I was 14 and 16. I had a TSH of 9.3 and 11.2 and low T4 levels but wasn’t treated at

What should I do now?
My latest thyroid test shows an improvement on my GP test (no t3) in July. Since July I’ve been using metavive I at 3 per day and for the past 6/7 weeks I switched to levo 50mcg and T3 3 moving up to 9mcg which I’ve since dropped back to 6 as I felt really unwell on 9. I’ve tried raising my levo but

Increased Levo about 3 weeks ago from 75 to 100. TSH seems to have dropped fast, is this usual ? I’ve been unwell with a virus, would that affect it? I can’t say the rapid change in TSH is reflected in feeling any better.

Bloods and GP help!
Hi my partner has been suffering from symptoms of hypothyroidism for several years now. The bulk of this time he was suffering depression, anxiety and over weight so each visit to the GP about his symptoms would always be loose weight and sort your mental health. Amazingly since the start of this yr

I need to get my Levothyroxine dose increased - I think !
Hello people, what a great forum - I have only now found the confidence to post here, and I really need some advice. I'd had hypothyroid symptoms and high TSH since the end of 2019 but wasn't diagnosed with hashimoto's until May 2023, when my antibody test showed high TPO . I was put on a starter dose

The good doctor
I had a GP appointment this morning (double appointment) for a Medication Review. I haven’t had one since pre-Covid when I lived in a different part of the country. I crept into the surgery with fear in my heart as I prepared to explain the ins and outs of NDT. OH came with me as I was in the middle

Can't find proper thyroid medication
Hi all, I've tried almost all thyroid medications under the sun, NDT, T4 only (tirosint, synthroid, euthyrox), T4 + T3, T3 only, NDT + T4. And no matter what I still have lingering symptoms despite all my levels being optimal ( TSH, free T4 and free T3). My vitamins are all optimal as well (vtiamin

T4 low, TSH rising, T3 fluctuates
I posted a few weeks ago about my ongoing battle with thyroid symptoms (hypothyroidism) and B12 and trying to get my GP to move forward with it all. My latest (private) test results are attached. Taken at 8.30am, just water, stopped biotin a week before. My T4 is low (and dropped below range last
