Thyroid ranges for teen
Does anyone know if thyroid ranges are the same for kids/under 18s as for adults? I've got a GP appt in a couple of weeks to discuss 14 year old (with acute anxiety) results. I've only got the TSH result, and it's come back normal at 0.87 (levels 0.51-4.3). Or am I safe to assume those would be

Levo Brands/NICE guidelines
TT two years’ ago from being hypER with goitre. Now on 125mgs Accord Levo. Various ‘symptoms’ but apart from weight gain my main concerns are breathlessness/balance issues/food sensitivities. An interesting consult with my gp this morning and I would like to see what comments the forum might

T3 and TSH
I have my appointment with the endo this afternoon. I have read that if you’re on T3 and T4, your TSH should be within the normal range. my T3 was 5.7 (with 6.8 being the top of the range) and my T4 was 21.3 (with 22 being the top of the range). My TSH is suppressed. Please can someone tell me if

hives after starting levothyroxine
I’ve been on 25mg of levothyroxine since 1st march. My TSH level was 5.38 and for fertility reasons I needed it to be 2.5. Levothyroxine has done the trick and I’m now 2.45. I have recently developed a raised rash all over my body that is so itchy. Does anyone have any experience of this or solutions

Hashimotos for Sixteen Years, Realizing I Know Next to Nothing
This is a long story, and as with so much in this "we have too much info" age, I'm probably over-responding, but, I was recently blindsided by a new health condition, and I don't fancy having it happen again if there are cues available. I've had hypothyroidism/Hashimotos for 16-17 years, at least based

Would splitting my levothyroxine into at least 2 doses suppress my TSH less than talking the whole dose at once?

Switching from Levothyroxine to Liothyronine
Hello, I hope everyone is well. I haven’t written on here for a while as I’ve been feeling quite well so hope you don’t mind me coming back to you now. Although I feel good on my current dose of thyroxine and definitely don’t feel I’m taking too much, my endocrinologist wants to lower my thyroxine

Latest thyroid test results
Hi everyone, After being underdosed on 25mcg of Levothyroxine for almost a decade, my new GP increased my dose to 50mcg around 6 months ago. The increase was done slowly over 6 weeks, as advised by people in this group. I had some blood tests done two days ago and today I got a message from the GP saying

newly diagnosed help with results
Hi, I was diagnosed hypothyroid a month ago and prescribed 25mcg Levo which I’ve been on since then. They wouldn’t prescribe anything higher as my tsh was suppressed < 0.001 I’ve just had my results back from my test this week and I’m not sure how to interpret and feel like they’re gonna try and take

What tests are needed?
Hi, My husband is on Lithium and his regular bloods from that clinic showed his thyroid results were off so he was sent to the GP for testing. The nurse said his results were fine. We haven’t been able to access the results and I imagine they only did TSH or basic tests. I want to get our own tests

I found myoovi helps. It's not better than heat.. but I switched as on a particularly painful endo flare up my I gave myself blisters from my heat pad.. and I found out that prolonged use of heat pads can discolour your skin 'google grandmother's tartan'. Nothing like that comes with a tens machine

Curious…aside from high in range TSH are these frees pretty euthyroid? These were taken before starting thyroid medication. Negative for both antibodies. I’m coming around to the idea that I’ve been misdiagnosed as thyroid medication makes me feel worse. Off meds my TSH can vary from 8-4 within

Hand surgery cancelled due to supressed TSH on liothyronine
I was due to have a Trapeziotomy on left hand tomorrow. (Both hands need to be done due to bone on bone arthritis but have to have 6 month recovery inbetween)With less than 16 hours notice it has been cancelled as my pre operative blood tests show a supressed TSH and so they cancelled it. But I specifically

Liver, hyperthyroidism, carbimazole
I have been on 15mg of carbimazole for a month to treat my Graves relapse. I started on 30mg and felt worse than being hyper so my endo said I could take half. It has taken me about a month to feel slightly better. I am improving although my insomnia is still challenging. I had a blood test this
