Me again
Hi, here again. He's doing really well. He's out in the chair each day, still hoisted but he was trying to stand and they had to tell him no you're not strong enough yet. Monday he was in the chair when I got there and they didn't put him back to bed until I left. He was getting tired towards the end

Good news post
Hubby is now off sedation and starting to wake. He opened his eyes when he heard my voice and focused on me. I held his hand and he squeezed it without being asked. Every time I told him I loved him, he squeezed my hand again, and I said yes I know you love me.He was coughing a bit with the infection

Lots happening as usual, hubby isn't taking the easy route. Had a tracheotomy Monday morning, on Monday evening he had an emergency and had to have it taken out and the breathing tube put back in. This afternoon he had the tracheotomy redone this time with the correct size tube. I rang the hospital and

Hubby off sedation in the day and on it at night. Today he was moving his head from side to side and trying to get to his neck, so he's obviously now aware of the breathing tube. . Dr told me I shouldn't visit over the weekend as there'll be no change and I need to rest and eat. I wasn't going Sunday

After the surgery she was groggy but responsive. On day 2 post op my mom started having delirium (hospital psychosis

The consultants goal was to get her oxygen levels stable enough for a
tracheostomy
. Finally the cultures came back from the lab and they were able to start her on a more specific antibiotic. She’s allergic to penicillin so it made it slightly trickier to find the right one.

Ups & downs again, but back on the up.
Hi everyone, been on that rollercoaster again. Son unfortunately vomited through his tracheotomy last Tuesday whilst his PEG feed was running. He seemed ok but come Thursday all his stats were alarmingly high requiring hospital admission. Diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia & started on strong IV antibiotics

Dad has delayed response to swallowing reflex when being weaned from tracheostomy… anyone have any similar experience?

How to get medical records?
Hi All - My brother was in ICU and I was the one, who signed the consent for his
tracheostomy
and PEG and the hospital didn't even asked for my ID to make sure I am the sister, let alone asking for POA.

Has this happened to you?
I don’t want a
tracheostomy
. my options are not great. I am curious to know has anyone else had the same experience from having their thyroid removed? Another question.

Perforated duodenal ulcer
He was on a ventilator and then got the
tracheostomy
tube done several days now. It's still hard for him to breathe without the ventilator help. Not able to wean off just yet unfortunately. Suspect it's because of the fluid buildup that's still there.

Possible thyroid removal
They had managed as it was a short operation but said if it had been longer surgery they might have had to do a
tracheostomy
! I also had a port fitted for chemo and the surgeon who did this commented on the size of my thyroid.

Hi, newbie here
I have no memory of the period from walking into the ambulance to having my
Tracheostomy
removed 4 weeks later. My family have filled in some of the blanks, & I have the scars as evidence.
