Should kids visit during Post Trauma Amnesia? Also, how long did PTA last for you?
He still has a
tracheostomy
so not verbal at present, however he is mobile and responds by nodding, shaking head, smiling, pointing.

PSP and tracheotomy?
I explain: 12+ years with PSP. 1 year with tracheotomy. Every need covered (Its sucks!) My question is how long will this stage last? Normally I read that PSP patients die beacuse of PSP with problems due to their lungs. My father has his lungs covered for ever! I.e. machine breathing and lung cleaning

What happens next?
A bit of history first... my mum has always had repeated chest infections and as long as I can remember she’s always choked on her food. About 3 years ago, she finally had scans done and they discovered a shadow on her right lung. They gave different antibiotics to try and clear up the infection she

Coby breathed on his own again...
Coby breathed on his own again today during his three-4 hour surgery and as far as I know is still breathing on his own. His knee is completely fixed as shown below 😁😁 and now we are waiting to see if he’ll wake up soon. I’m pretty sure they’ll keep the ventilator in for a couple extra days seeing

My beautiful husband has become another star in the sky
Unfortunately his SATs dropped over the last couple of days and I couldn’t get them up in the early hours despite suctioning through his
tracheostomy
, giving the nippy ( cough assist machine), upping the oxygen etc.

I'm new here and looking for a similar situation to mine for advice and support...
It took a further 5 days for her to come round, by which point the doctors had performed a
tracheostomy
so she couldn't talk or breath for herself. Eventually she was moved to a 'step down' ward and yesterday she was discharged from hospital.

Heart attack & 25 minuet cardiac arrest
My husband (49) had an inferior stemi out of the blue at the end of October. His right coronary artery was completely blocked, so he had an emergency stent fitted in hospital. Shortly after this he went into cardiac arrest on the Coronary Care Unit. He was shocked several times over a period of 25 minutes

Wedding Day 22/10/2018
Got Steve’s navy
tracheostomy
cover and the bow tie in place and we were good to go. Oh we even managed to email ( with Lisa’s help) some photos of Steve and I to Richard who projected them during the ceremony. Steve got married in bed, I tell you there is never a dull moment in our lives.

Some good news
He still has to have one to one supervision at all times due to his swallowing issues and his
tracheostomy
, high risk of falls etc etc! The move to the ward wasn’t without many issues and I had to make a formal complaint but enough of that.

tracheostomy
as he has barely no cough, he has a PEG as his swallowing is very unreliable and he silently aspirated, he has had continuous chest infections and MRSA the hospital bug.
