I can go on Topamax or endep for treatment of my migraines which occur weekly, which will work more quickly at reducing the migraines?

Topamax.... For pain but you can loose weight.... True or false?
Topamax
.... This seems to be used for migraines but you can loose a lot of weight on it. So has anyone found this? I don't have migraine, but bad headaches left from a previous brain blood clot and celultuis.

some borrowed wisdom needed for round 3 with the pricey consultant...
- ive spent the last 8 months building up my levels to 100mg of amatriplytine & 100mg of
topamax
in the hope of getting rid of this migraine ...no joy. It has eased the number of random muscle spasm pains and screw driver headaches i get but not the constant dull 1" back frontal forehead.

Mother of infant with intractable epilepsy
Currently he is on
Topamax
, Rivotril, Keppra and we are weaning him off Phenabarbitone. When he has the grand mal seizures, he screams / shouts (he is only 12 weeks old), sometimes becoming very high pitched screaming.

Had a preterm labor with lots of clots, and now a blood clot in arm. Possible APS?
I wonder if the
topamax
caused this or do you all think with what happened with my labor and delivery and seizure like episodes I should look into APS?

Interesting few months...
I can also see why some patients/doctors on the internet call them "Dopamax" (the trademark name is
Topamax
) because they are making me a little dopey at this low dose...forgetting things in the middle of sentences, (like now that sentence was supposed to have more on it but nope...blank) and other stuff

Any opinions, experience of weekly fosamax tablets?
I have GCA. Started on 60 mg pred, then 40 mg, now starting today on 35mg. I take 2 calcichew tablets per day. Now my GP has suggested I consider also taking a fosamax ( biphosphonate) tablet as well, which would be once a week to help prevent osteoporosis. Knowing that I like information about anything

Anyone else get tardive dyskinesia when taking Lomotil and Phenergan?
I also take 1.5mg Mirapex 3 times daily and 150mg
Topamax
2 times daily, in case their addition to the mix had something to do with the reaction. Is it common to have this type of reaction with this combination of medications?

Fosamax
Has any one here experience of taking Fosamax to counteract steroid complications? I've been in tremendous pain over the last 6 months just walking about. I've got through with stubbornness and painkillers, but today went to the hospital for the results of my scan only to find out I have fractures

Vitamin D/Calcium or Alendronate (Fosamax)
Because this has sort of come up on the Pred Thread, I thought I would ask who is prescribed what for their anti Pred bone thinning med regimen. Have you been put on AdCal D3, Fosamax, Calci-Chew or anything else. It is always good to know what the current trend is. If you know your T score and degree

Pharmacists/Fosamax
I've noticed quite a few of the questions which people raise on this site (e.g. recent ones about Fosamax and Seretide/Ventolin) could perhaps better be raised with a pharmacist. Just wondering why other people don't use their local pharmacy more for advice? Most towns have one which is open late/on

Dexa scans
Im just wondering how often people have dexa scans, i had one nearly two years ago but this morning i got a letter to go for another, the one I had before was just in the osteopenia range. i just read somewhere that its not necessary to have one so often as the change in bone density changes so slowly

Fosamax - 70mg once a week
Up until recently I used to take 5mg Fosamax daily as when I was started on it I had just had two lots of major bowel surgery which made me unsuitable for once a week at that time. Recently was told that 5mg are no longer being produced and won't be produced again. My GP has now deemed it worth trying
