Hi everyone, slightly concerned, I've seen a fair few reports online of extreme hairloss whilst taking topiramate/topamax, any info?? X

Regret, I am on Carbamazapine and Phenytoin so have no idea of side effects of Topiramate/Topamax... Every medication taken is done on "trial and error". One never knows until the medication is taken what side affects one will have... Everyone is different and it depends on the type of epilepsy one has.

I am also on carbamazepine and I am experiencing pretty awful side effects, my specialist suggested topiramate as a replacement. I haven't started topiramate, it hasn't even been prescribed to me yet! But I was concerned with the number of reports about hair loss. I was just curios if anyone had experienced/ knows someone who has this side effect on topiramate x

i take topiramate alone with tegretol, clobazam, have been taking about a year and haven't experienced any hair lose i do find i get more tired

I have been on topirimate for 4 years + now along with oxcarbazepine and have never had any hair loss at all however they havent helped much i still fit regularly and I had the op in 2010!

Oh, maybe they experienced hair loss whilst only taking topiramate? Who knows haha, thank you very much for your answers! x
