Fracture liason nurses.
Hi, a few members have mentioned speaking with their fracture liason nurses. I live in the UK and attend a bone clinic but have never been told of or heard of this kind of nurse. In the last week I have had yet another fracture this is my second in 9 weeks. I now have 6 in total, not on any treatment

Is this too many drugs?! Prostap, Tibilone, Norethisterone, Tranexamic Acid, Mirena Coil
I'm so worried. I had a mirena coil fit in March, to help stop heavy periods. I have bled every single day since. The GP wouldn't remove it, as I hadn't given it enough time. Instead I ended up taking 9 Norethisterone a day (usually you take 3). Then I ended up in hospital because I couldn't handle the

In Pursuit Of Restful Sleep And Help For Nocturia
One topic that seems to come up regularly on this forum is the issue of poor sleep or insomnia and it seems very common in PWP so I thought I would try another experiment to see if I could improve on my current sleep regimen and if I could, I wanted to share that information here on the forum. Strange Development
Good morning all, it's a lovely day on Englands south coast and the sun is shining. Getting to my question, I need advice please. Newly diagnosed in early May with PMR. Put on Pred 15mg all symptoms and pain disappeared the following day. Felt great and after 3 weeks tapered to 12.5mg. No issues. Further

Low Calcium
Hello, I don't know if this forum is the appropriate one, but I need to get a malabsorbsion mystery solved. I have just received a call from GP regarding blood test results. She mentioned that my calcium is still under range. She asked me if I eat high calcium food. I told her that I crave dairy products

Some comment about FDA and new drugs for #NASH, also I need your help with a letter we will be sending to FDA. 8 questions I need your help!
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/L28VFRM I recently wrote about our concern that the FDA had reset the clock on OCA, obeticholic acid, which is the first potential treatment for advancing fibrosis due to NASH. The core of my objection is that it was done without patient input. As patients, who face potential

Should I see a Rheumatologist?
I was diagnosed with PMR in January. Started on Prednisolone 30mg and now down to 20mg. I am also on blood thinners, anti cholesterol, stomach protection and now Calcium and Vitamin D with Alendronic acid. Would love to reduce medication particularly the Alendronic Acid. Should I see a Rhumotologist

Don't confuse 'DHA' with 'DHEA' like I did!
Happy Sunday morning! I was doing a little research this morning as I was increasingly bothered by the idea that I had been taking fish oil with EPA and DHA for over a year now and recently read so much on here about what I thought was DHA's negative effect on fertility for some women. However

Alendronic acid
Hi, I've been on pred 4 yrs almost now. Currently on 3mg. Mum has had PMR for years and her oesophagus is shot to pieces. She is 91 but struggles hugely with eating and has regular bouts of sickness. Because of this I refused Alendronic acid originally believing it to be the main culprit for her peptic

Alendronic Acid
Had a fall at the weekend resulting in a broken wrist. It is an uncomplicated fracture but I have a feeling that the Rhumatologist will try to put me on Alendronic Acid and this is something I really dont want. My first reaction would be to ask for a Dexa Scan to see if its really neccessary and if
