The doctor wants me to consider
Tocilizumab
weekly infusions. I have read the study and understand the side effects, but I would like to hear some of your thoughts and/or experiences. Thank you

GCA, Actemra and feeling exhausted
I have been so much better since taking
Tocilizumab
but I still get days of aching all over and feeling really exhausted. I am really not my old self and wonder if I ever will be .

Today's the day!
We don't know whether the teddy bears are having their picnic, but the NICE guidance for the use of
tocilizumab
(Roactemra) are published this morning on the NICE website. https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/TA518 Criteria are tight, as we expected, but it's a start.

Mesenchymal Stem Cell treatment
I have been through all the meds and I’m currently taking
Tocilizumab
once a week via injection as well as naproxen and co codamol daily. I have looked into stem cell therapy done in Panama, and the results appear to be very good.

GCA and Tocilizumab funding
I have GCA and am taking
Tocilizumab
on the NHS and have received special funding. I now understand
Tocilizumab
has been turned down by NICE and that there is an appeal this Thursday. If the appeal fails what happens to people like me who are already on the drug.

I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who responded to our straw poll on GCA. Tofacitinib - Xeljanz update 3 months on...
I was prescribed Tofacitinib after exhausting quite a few biologics first; Certolizumab, Etanercept,
Tocilizumab
and Rixtuximab, are some of the ones I remember!
