Tobramycin

I'm on the 28 days on 28 days off "Toby" and inhale once a day . (Twice a day was too much for me.) I use a numbing throat spray to make the inhale sessions tolerable. The spasm coughing associated with the treatment is bad. Are others experiencing this also? Any treatments other than Toby?

I am already on nebulised tobramycin. She is treating me for the dreaded pseudomonas.I must admit that this turn of events isn’t a good sign and I can become quite depressed about my future.

Hi fellow sufferers/ strivers, I have had bronchiectasis since childhood with endless chest infections getting more frequent with age (75) This week my consultant asked if I wanted try nebulised Tobramycin so here I go with trepidation. Has anyone tried this medication? Take care all. Marlbee

as they only other thing they offer me is another pik line and i did not toterate the Tobramycin.

Has anyone used this for Pseudomonas, nebulized and how did u do it? Did you nebulize saline first, then clear lungs and then nebulize Toby and did it cure you? Pls get back to me asap as my Dr. wants me to start this asap and i am already so tired from being sick w Pseudomonas for months and just

I just started Tobramycin after failed 3 week pik line of antibiotics for Pseuodomonas, now havre sore throat and cough and non stop flooding mucas and worse exhaustion.

THEY ADDED TOBRAMYCIN WHICH IS JUST CAUSING NON STOP MUCAS ALL NIGHT AND CANNOT SLEEP. MY DR IS ON VAC SO FAR NO ONE HAS CALLED BACK. ANYONE ELSE GOING THRU THIS AND WHAT TREATMENT WORKED FOR THEM AT LEAST FOR AWHILE. I AM REALLY SICK. THANK UY

Bronchiectasis , inhaled TOBRAMYCIN for several weeks, now BAD stomachache. ANy suggestions please????

Hello, Just curious if anyone has had side effects after starting inhaled tobramycin combined with ventolin nebs?? Thanks!

Having a real b%#~h of an admission in tertiary, with a tonne of issues with the antibiotics (wrong doses, missed doses) that’s included 2 high troughs at 18 hours post once daily tobramycin infusion.

Can it be due to 3 lots of i/v antibiotics (piperacillin and tobramycin) . My fear is the pseudomnas colonisation has spread to my gut, in which case I am in real trouble as it will be permanent !!, which means I shall end up being fed by tube to add to my woes.

I’m most specifically interested in loss attributed to tobramycin use if there’s anyone here. Small person (now aged 11) has had over 40 courses of IVs using tobi since birth.

Been tried on Colomicin twice, but causing breathing problems, also given tobramycin and gentamicin, same problem. Consultant says he can't give me anything else, just have me in hospital when I have exacerbation.

They have also tried tobramycin nebulizer but these have had to be stopped due to severe tightening of the chest and worsening of asthma symptoms. The main problem I am experiencing when admitted with chest infection is premature discharge before the infection is eradicated.

It seems I cannot tolerate nebulising Colomycin or Tobramycin , is there any other way to take these as I understand that they are the only meds to help with Pseudomonus? Awaiting hospital getting in touch!

I am on Tobramycin once a day and Ceftazadime 3 times a day. I seem to notice that over the last couple of days my sight is a bit blurry and wondered if anyone else has ever had these drugs and had any problems with them?

Also colonised with HI and prior to going on nebbed Tobramycin (and that isn't without probs, although the SOB is spasmodic and not as dramatic as the nebbed colomycin which ended in 5*) started with an infection 5-7 days following every course of high lingthy dose of abs, which the spec was sensitive

Didn't neb my Tobramycin as it does tighten my chest and make me a bit breathless and I had some stairs to climb, so I waited while we got back. Quite late and everyone was tired and went to bed. Don't you just hate it when everyone packs in and you have to start.
