Oh dear I'm so sorry to hear that Supercrazylady. Have you called gp to ask what you could do to help, I think they need to know too for their records.....there's always the chance that its not related to the tobramycin.

Thanks SO much from 🇨🇦. While you were sleeping I got more big pains in chest and of course thought the worst!!! Went to nearby Emerg and had excellent care and checks and my heart is fine (well still broken , of course, with the last June 1 death of our oldest son in Florida (took his own life due to fears about ALS). As the Emerg Dr said “women get broken hearts”. Yep 😍😍😍😍😍

Oh my goodness I'm so terribly sorry about your son SuperCrazy, thats awful. Yes, hearts can most definitely be broken and deep grief is personal affecting us in different ways. In my late 20s my youngest brother was killed (motorbike), within weeks I had such terrible pains in my stomach. The only way I could sooth it was eating a bit of bread. We were living in North Africa at the time, I had to fly back to the UK for a private hospital appointment for endoscopy & it turned out to be pre ulcerative stomach. My sis on the other hand months later began to have panic attacks. We both brought him up really and it definitely broke our hearts for a long time, we weren't allowed to cry at the time.Glad your heart is healthy however, did they not suggest you get your stomach checked? Do take care of yourself, Peege

Hi Supercrazylady. I'm sorry that you are having this stomach ache. I have nebulised several different antibiotics over 30 years and I have had a wheeze reaction but never stomach ache. We are all different and I think that you should try to speak to your consultant about reactions to Tobramycin and visit your GP if you can about the stomach ache. I agree with peege that it could have another cause.

Thanks SO much—you give me hope—-while awaiting more test results at Emerg last night I Googled a bit to find out OTHER inhaled antibiotics!! Sounds like there are several for non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis!!! Yay. I would be most grateful for a list of the ones YOU have used when you get a few minutes please. (NO RUSH)WHAT A SUPER THOUGHTFUL GIFT THIS SITE IS❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

I started with nebulised amoxyl. Then when pseudomonas became the main player - gentomycin ehich virtually closed my lungs down, ceftazidime for 15 yrs, v good. Tobramycin, colomycin, bothof which I reacted to and now meropenem which is v effective and so far so good.

Sorry for the short reply, I was out with my daughter, being treated to lunch. Do come back if you want to know anything else

Tobramysin kills bacteria. Some of the dugs I take also kill bacteria. I drink a product called kefir to re-establish the bacteria in my stomach and my intestines. I take kefir daily after breakfast. When I get indigestion I consume several swallows of kefir and it settles my stomach down.

Hope this helps.

Stay safe.🙂
