Hello, I would like to thank you all for your very helpful and interesting replies to my previous post. I have not started taking the statins yet, but I heard back from my eye consultant yesterday and he assured me I was ok to take the statins and blood pressure tablets with my current eye medication. I had been looking on various websites about possible drug reactions and discovered that as Timolol is a beta blocker, when taken with Amlodipine it could lower my BP even more, but as my dose is very low (2.5 mg) I cannot see it being a problem, unless I start falling over! I also read that taking multi-vitamins and minerals with the BP tablets might not be a good idea. I’m starting to sound a right hypochondriac, but it was reassuring to hear from my eye consultant about the various medications. I might begin the statins tonight!
Thanks again for your replies - it’s so good to know we are all trying to help each other.
Kind regards, Gill
