What is the safe time between taking levothyroxine and omeprazole, 6 hours?
Hi I'm new to hypothyroidism after Radioactive iodine treatment and have graves. I'm also still under adjustment of levothyroxine 100mcg at present and am getting heartburn quite a lot. I used to take omeprazole for acid reflux and understand that it affects the absorption of levothyroxine. Can I still

Evening all, So today was my first appointment with the endocrine and it’s definitely graves I have, I’m currently off work sick with it and my sick note expires this Thursday, I don’t feel 100% better just now to go back but I’m confused to what normal feels like, I still get rapid heartbeat, sweats

So so tired of trying to get well with such poor results, 9 years on and I feel so depressed. (Graves’ disease) ( blood tests inc in post).
Is there anyone with Graves’ disease that has managed long term remission?. For 9 years I have tried and only managed 18 months remission. I try to do everything to help myself. With health, I don’t drink or smoke, eat well and exercise moderately, take vitamins etc. Here are my latest bloods after 6

Radioactive Iodine Treatment or Thyroidectomy?
Hello! I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in May 2017, my levels of TSH came down to normal range and so I was taken off Carbimozole in March 2019. Two weeks ago I was admitted to hospital with a heart rate of 160, where they'd found I was down to 7.5 stone and unfortunately that my hyperthyroidism

Indefinite antithyroid drug therapy in toxic Graves’ disease: What are the cons
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3830376/ Whilst I don't agree especially with the cost effectiveness bits comparing ATD therapy to RAI or TT, this piece is chocked full of details about ATD, RAI, TT. Worth a read since many of us always wonder how long we can go on with Graves on ATD therapy

Questions about bone marrow biopsy (having my second one Tuesday 😰) and MDS
Hi, I am getting my second bone marrow biopsy in less than a year on Tuesday 😥 because I have had low white blood cells since last fall, and as of Monday they were down to 1.6k/ml . If anyone has a chance to look at my results, can you explain about MDS. One doctor said I essentially have it just because

I had thyroid removed ( messy and long story) and am now suffering from heart disease due to thyroid issues and am on a 100mg from 75mg of levothyroxine but cannot shift the excess weight I have put on ie over 30lb nor the feeling of bloating. Lichen sclerosus anybody else? Scared
I've generally had a stressful panicky day. Consequently I have a really embarrassing problem. When I get stressed out my stomach goes to pieces and I get diarrhoea. And when I'm wiping too much I get a really sore bit on my perineum like near the entrance of my vulva and it looks like a cut and it looks

Urine iodine test results
Ive just received my Iodine (Urine) test result from Genova via Thyroid UK and the result is 91 mcg/l (Range 100-199), hence classed as "Slight Deficit". Any views on way forward e.g. should I maintain or increase my iodine supplementation (below)? Note: 1. Ive not been diagnosed with thyroid disease

Recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism - six weeks on Levothyroxine
Hi all, I've been reading this forum avidly for the last few days following my first blood test after six weeks of Northstar levothyroxine treatment of 50 mcg. My latest results are below, can anyone please tell me if these are 'normal', 'good' or otherwise? I realise it's a very individual matter. Also

Specialist trying to scare me with “long term effects of overactive thyroid”
Hi all me again! Have been back to the specialist and did not increase my carbimzaole to 40mg from 10mg as I didn’t feel I needed to. My March blood test (last one I had) came back as; TSH 0.03, Free T4 12.8, Free T3 5.3 Again I am being pressured into upping my meds to make my thyroid TSH level go into

I3C [indole-3-carbinol]
Following on from recent I3C posts, I thought I would review the literature. Plants have evolved protective mechanisms to deal with environmental insult. The greatest such insult, of course, is to be eaten. So, along with the chemicals that are considered to be protective in humans, such as the polyphenols
