Any thoughts please on why erfa is the only thyroid medication than helps in my case, all others cause relentless migraines
Initially I started levothyroxin that was horrendous at the time with awful adrenal causing a whole load of unpleasant symptoms, t3 thybon brand I have also tried without success. I started on NDT around 15 years ago but had to build up slowly over a few years as it caused wired & tired symptoms causing

ERFA with added iodine

Help with dosing ov Armour thyroid
Hello everyone, Currently on 112.5 mcg of Levo , split into two doses , and no thyroid, I am switching to Armour thyroid . I am apprehensive about dosages to start with, as I react very strongly to drugs. For example, taking Levo in one dose instead two, gives me headaches and migraine-like visual

Cardiac surgery
Has anyone on long term thyroid meds had open-heart cardiac repair surgery? Any ideas as to whether it affects thyroid and any need to up/ lower T4/T3 meds? Any reflections/suggestions would be most welcome.

Do you think I need an increase in my T4 dose???
Hi all, I have hashimoto and hypo since many years. I take T4 medication ( 100 mg) every morning. The brand name is Euthyrox ( the version which has mannitol and citric acid instead of lactose). This is my thyroid test results after 14 months of no tests at all due to lack of medical insurance. I was

Why does Levothyroxine cause weight gain if it treats hypothyroidism, weight gain being a hypo symptom?
Shouldn't it help rectify hypo symptoms not make them worse? This baffles me! I wish I could revert back to Levothyroxine and use it together with T3 as NDT is extortionately priced, and not working brilliantly for me anymore, however, weight gain is my biggest fear, and I read so much about this on

thy3f thyroid nodules on either side - doctors recommend total thyroidectomy
hi there I was recently diagnosed with 2 thy3f nodules on either side of my thyroid. Thy3f is an indeterminate result (25%malignancy 75% benign). I have no symptoms recently had a baby, breastfeeding, busy mom of 3 on no medication. Has anyone elected watch and wait tactic instead of thyroidectomy?

Enlarged thyroid
In May 2023 I was advised that I have an enlarged thyroid gland that was partially causing narrowing of the trachea this was seen via CT. I had thyroid bloods done and advised they all came back normal. In December had a repeat CT which showed the same as before as well as ultrasound scan which confirmed

NAC and Thyroid Antibodies
Currently hypothyroid, high TgAB, TPO and TSI normal. Am on 600mcg of levothyroxine across the week. Has anyone had success in reducing thyroid antibodies by taking NAC? What other supplements do you take to support thyroid health besides vit D, iron, B12, Folate? These are already under control

After many years on levothyroxine 100mg, I have now been prescribed Armour thyroid 60mg (1 grain) to be taken twice a day, but starting at ½ grain twice a day. Lactose intolerant
I am changing from Armour Thyroid to synthetic T4 and T3, due to cost and that a local Endo has agreed to this on the NHS. However I’m super sensitive to lactose and the hospital pharmacy are dithering about finding lactose free options. Does anyone know which brands are lactose free please?

Collected Responses to Give more funding for thyroid research and patients after price hike Petition
The petition launched by Pete Taylor has received a response, and there have now been numerous posts referencing that. And replies on each of them. This it is getting spread and some will be missed, there will be much repetition, etc. For that reason, this new post is intended to collect everything

Has anyone had this? Desperate for answers
for about 2 months now I can feel my thyroid is swollen - I had blood tests by doctors and confirmed that my hormone levels are normal and thyroid is functioning. I then had an ultra sound which said that my thyroid was ‘diffuesly enlarged’ and that I also had ‘tiny cysts’ I have now been referred
