Treatment of Paediatric Brain Cancer with T3?
Report of an interesting study where T3 (liothyronine) was used to treat mice with medulloblastoma. The treatment reprogrammed the cells so they became normal rather than cancerous. The study is described here https://www.foxchase.org/news/2023-04-17-study-finds-thyroid-drug-normalizes-tumor-cells-in-pediatric-brain-cancer

GP disagreement re levo. Plus wondering if FT3/TPO link to Pernicious anaemia B12 treatment?
Question re changing GP in same surgery and differing GP views. So sorry its a long one, added alot of health backstory incase its useful. I'm in the UK and was dx hypothyroid last year. Been titrating levo and got to about 1 this spring. Was doing OK, not brilliant and was certin I hahe Pernicious Anaemia

First time posting here with questions
Hello, I was wondering how to tell if you need b12 injections when you take oral b12 and your serum b12 always comes out looking great? I haven't had it tested recently but past tests always come out way over the range. Anyway, I saw a post by @Marz in which she said that she takes b12 due to having

NDT dosing where insomnia is an issue
Interested to hear how others do their NDT dosing where insomnia is a big issue. I’m about to have a NDT increase (currently 4 months into treatment, at 3/4 grain) Insomnia is chronic. Horrible. Even on 20mg amitripyline, it’s still an issue. I recently tried one dose NDT at 6am because I thought

Thyroid Madness continued
Well, I won't be multi-dosing again unless it synthetic T3 and T4. I'm at the YMCA and I'm very unhappy with the shape of my body. I gained weight around my middle. I don't think my legs look this bad. Maybe I'm in denial. However,, I would like to add T3 to my NDT if I could. I don't believe I'm going

Endo is recommending radioactive iodine
At my last endocrinology appointment, it was strongly suggested I have radioactive iodine therapy. I'm not terribly keen, for reasons that many of you here have pointed out. I still don't know for sure that I have Graves'. The endo didn't think it mattered if it was Graves' or not, she would still recommend

Cannot get my TSH in range - help needed please, should I switch to levo?
Hello, I’ve been taking Thyroid-S NDT for 6+years and I’ve been trying to get my TSH to be close to range but cannot seem to get anywhere. I’ve tracked my ranges from 2022 and I’m still no closer. I’m nervous as when medichecks send my results they always say there’s higher risk of heart issues and osteoporosis

Another update on potential meds intolerance
Hey everyone,I have trouble tolerating thyroid meds despite trying different combos, even different NDT med types etc, while it hasn't been a problem before, it was smooth sailing on Armour and great increasing, until I crashed mid 2017. Currently on 2.375 gr Armour and 5 mcg Thybon t3. My salivary cortisol

Fluctuations in levels
Me again, here to pick your lovely brains! Is it normal for thyroid levels to fluctuate all the time? I'm not on any medication. I had 2 blood tests 1 week apart, both taken early morning before breakfast. First lot: TSH 5.05 (0.27-4.2) T4 13.1 (12-22) T3 4.3 (3.1-6.8) Second lot: TSH 2.94 (0.40-4.90

Confused about latest blood tests - why are FT4 and FT3 rising, but I still feel awful and I'm undiagnosed and not on any meds?
Sorry for the super long post.... I would very much appreciate the help of you wonderful people on this forum. I am a bit confused with my latest blood test results that I just received yesterday, and am hoping that you will be able to help me understand what's going on. I'll try to keep it brief, while

Repeated Thyroid Test
Hi everyone, I first wrote 3 months ago with a query about my blood test results and I found your information incredibly useful. At the time one of your members suggested I probably have Hashimotos. My doctor's response to the first result was to do nothing, repeat test in 3 months. Which is what I
