I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's back in 2014. I have only been on synthroid once for about a year. It messed with my sleep and my blood pressure. So I stopped taking it and I became hooked on a sleep med to boot. My last US according to my report are referring to it as a goiter. I did have more daytime

Have I understood correctly? (Polite) stand-off with ultrasound doctor.
Hello everyone I’m just back from an ultrasound on my thyroid where the dr conducting the procedure declared my thyroid “boringly normal “. She also added that my larynx was “beautiful “. She then stated that I “do not have a thyroid condition “. I respectfully disagreed but she persisted: “

Hello..I'm without thyroid since 2009 and use Levo since than. Back in 2018 I used IBSA 125 (74Levo+21Lio) and I was feeling great up to when they take off market. I did a combi for one year between Levo and Liotir but something went wrong (probably I canculated the dose wrong) an I had collateral like

Tiny Levo increase but FT4 well over range
Just got results back from MMH. I’ll add historical results for comparison but they may be irrelevant as I am where I am! I take Levo only. Ranges were 3.1-6 for FT3 and 12-22 for all tests. 2021 on 100mcg TSH 0.01 FT4 24.9=129% (12-22) FT3 6.5=91.89% (3.1-6.8) Note: insomnia much improved

Big Pharma pays the price, but some thyroid patients are still paying
Bylines has been growing hugely in coverage and influence. So good to see thyroid and liothyronine covered in this informative article. Not so much for those of us who have seen it every step of they way - but for everyone else. [i]

TSH 3.88
Hi My recent blood test result showed my TSH is 3.88 and the receptionist said the doctor had left a note saying “tell patient normal” (which is what they always say). My question is…is it normal? I had a partial thyroidectomy in 2001 and have been on thyroxine ever since. Lately I’ve been struggling

New results relation between T4 and T3
I have just got the results from a new Blue Horizon test. I would appreciate comments on the relationship between T4 and T3 readings. Currently on 100μg levothyroxine TSH. 0.11 (0.27-4.2) T4. 20.8 (12 -22). 88% T3. 4.8. (3.1 -6.8) 46% Previously when on 75μg levothyroxine readings

tsh or t4 to determine over medication
It’s controversial in the United States between using tsh or t4 to detect over medication. Which is the best test to conclude over medication tsh or t4? Any help would be appreciated.

High cholesterol, high blood pressure & subclinical
So I've had dodgy blood tests for some years and finally forced the gp to treat me in November 25 levothyroxine 12 weeks later with little or no change I'm put up to 50 levo and given a lecture about high cholesterol and high blood pressure; and a refusal to check my bloods for a further 12 weeks If

Hello everyone. Firstly I want to say a big thanks to everyone that helped me understand my mum's results and situation. I also got my wires crossed and gave some wrong info. My mum did have a test before they prescribed 25mg, TSH 8.58. They said as she was 'borderline' they would try levo before considering
