Thyroid storm

hi all, I’m wondering if any of you who has Hashimotos or graves have also had the thyroid storm that causes you to go from hyper to hypo and back again. If so, how long does either side last for you? How many times a month or how many times a year etc?

Hi I have had to increase thyroxine from 75 to 100 mcg I have been on this before for years and was fine but blood tests show I need it .I have also been battling an infection and on antibiotics .would this cause me to feel very anxious and nervous .shaking inside .doctor has prescribed diazepam but

Was told I possibly had a thyroid storm. My FT3 has never been this high ever. It’s almost over the range. Plus, I didn’t take my pill before. So if I did I’m sure I could have ft4 and ft3 over the range, but tsh is great.

Very quick summary / update : Thyroid storm in March/April which saw me in A&E several times. Started on Propanalol 40mg three times a day, and Carbimazole currently taking 20mg twice a day. Bloods were positive for Graves and I have a collection of other autoimmune conditions.

He said that with my heart rate and high blood pressure being controlled with propranolol it would be a very low risk procedure and the risk of thyroid storm is also very very low. He mentioned that the worst thing public can do for me is nothing which is essentially what they're doing.

I had a total thyroidectomy in 2016 after having a thyroid storm……I have been on various doses of Levo over the following years both up & down doses (at one point only 50mcg per day!)….

I wondered what people’s thoughts were on my results really as he didn’t really say the severity of it just that he will give me an urgent referral and look out for symptoms of ‘thyroid storm’ I’m a bit shaken up really as I never thought my bad stomach etc would lead to this result Please see below

Hi, recently diagnosed been on Levothroxine for approx 7 weeks but still struggling is this normal?

I am 72 years & been on thyroid meds for 25+ years. I am on BP meds & have been given statins for a few years. Now been diagnosed with PMR & for which I am taking steroids.

I have just had my 3 monthly blood test. I take 1.5 grains of armour thyroid and 15 mcg of Liothyronine daily. I feel great BUT my results don’t reflect that.
