Menopaused. Would starting HRT mean reducing NDT? Has anyone experience of this please?
Hi Everyone, Still searching to be less housebound and energised. It's another thing to try before I throw in the towel. Any thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated ,as my TSH continues to decline out of range and T4 andT3 both low in NHS range. every best wish , G

Latest test results
My latest Thyroid results were: TSH 0.05, up from 0.0006; T3 3.2, down from 5.1; T4 8.1, down from 12.1 Not surprising, when you take into account that I was on 3.5 grains of NDT and this was replaced with just 100mcg Levothyroxine and 20mcg Liothyroxine. My dossages have been increased to 150mcg Levo

Morning? or Bedtime?
Hello, I recently came across Dr. Childs on YouTube, and watched his video about why taking your thyroid medication (hypo) may be better at night just before bed. I've been taking mine for almost 30 yrs the moment I wake up in the morning, waiting an hour before eating, 2-4 hrs before any supplements

Livaglutide and TSH
I read in the news today that weight loss jabs eg. Livaglutide are to be offered on apps without the need to visit a doctor. I remembered reading that Thyroid Cancer could be a possible side effect and in trying to read more about how thyroid hormones were involved came across the following research

Thyroid Antibodies
Just read a post from Thyroid UK about antibodies. The raised TPO connection seems clear, but then It says “The next group is the TG Ab. These levels rise as well as the TPO Ab levels in autoimmune thyroiditis, but to a lesser degree...” I don’t understand what this is saying…does it mean that BOTH

GP Coming - what to ask
having my annual review tomorrow and GP is coming to see me. Looking at all my past results I wonder, with them being up and down constantly, whether I am one of those whereby Levo no longer works for me and might be keeping me ill. Diagnosed back in 2005 and it's too far back to remember how I was

Hashimotos for Sixteen Years, Realizing I Know Next to Nothing
This is a long story, and as with so much in this "we have too much info" age, I'm probably over-responding, but, I was recently blindsided by a new health condition, and I don't fancy having it happen again if there are cues available. I've had hypothyroidism/Hashimotos for 16-17 years, at least based

What tests are needed?
Hi, My husband is on Lithium and his regular bloods from that clinic showed his thyroid results were off so he was sent to the GP for testing. The nurse said his results were fine. We haven’t been able to access the results and I imagine they only did TSH or basic tests. I want to get our own tests

Splitting NDT - SHBG and cortisol changes - help!
Hi all, I have started splitting my Armour dose, taking less in the morning and more in the afternoon. I had a test for ft3 ft4, but also checked cortisol and SHBG. I was so surprised. My ft4 is similar to where it was before splitting, my ft3 is a tad higher. SHBG went up from 62 to 79.9. Cortisol

Have you experience of Chemotherapy and underactive thyroid?
I have recently completed chemo following surgery for a bowel tumour. I was wondering if anyone has experience of chemotherapy and underactive thyroid? I have continued to take 75 T4 and 20 T3. It’s difficult to know if the fatigue / sleep problems are to do with the thyroid or chemo. many thanks.

SIDE EFFECTS FROM HYPO MEDS
Anyone else out there who’s resistant to all the hypothyroid meds they’ve tried? Over the last year I’ve tried Synthroid, Synthroid with Cytomel, Erfa, Erfa with Synthroid, and compounded NDT - which is pretty much all we have available to us in Canada. They all increase my hypo symptoms and give

Bizarre Thyroid Quote from 1941
We regularly despair at science and medicine seemingly missing so much about thyroid physiology and processes. However, every so often, we see something so extraordinarily odd and bizarre, we actually seem to have made huge progress. This starts fairly sensibly. Then goes downhill. Fast. And remember

Looking for help :(
Diagnosed with hashimotos. I’ve had a few ongoing issues and symptoms and they’re getting worse. My endo didn’t believe it was thyroid related or pcos related but arranged for other tests like ACTH, RF etc. He also stated at this point they were discharging me as there’s nothing more they can help with

Is my 7 year old son hypothyroid?
My son is 7 years old and he doesn't seem to be growing enough, at least in the last year or so. I am suspecting he could be Hypothyroid because of my genes (Hashimoto's and Type 1 diabetes), so we did some blood work: hGH - 0,27 ng/mL (0,05 - 11,00) IGF-I - 74,93 ng/mL (18,00 - 307,00) TSH - 3,574

Dire rheumatology appointment.
Recent GP visit with a mouth full of ulcers brought long standing health issues to a head. I have a long history of health issues since contracting mononucleosis in 1987. Fatigue, dizziness, headaches, migraines, Endometriosis, sleep disorder - hypnogogic hallucinations, sun allergy that began as a rash

Feeling odd when walking home
HiI wonder if anyone else feels like this. It's not every time but is quite regular. I'm walking home and I start to feel really light headed. Then I start feeling shaky and then sweaty. I can feel I'm not walking normally. When I get home I have to sit down and recover for about 20 minutes and then
