HiI wonder if anyone else feels like this. It's not every time but is quite regular.
I'm walking home and I start to feel really light headed. Then I start feeling shaky and then sweaty. I can feel I'm not walking normally.
When I get home I have to sit down and recover for about 20 minutes and then I'm ok.
When I get home, my BP is normal, ECG on my watch says inconclusive initially but then sinus rhythm as I'm recovering.
I've attached today's ECG - I felt particularly bad this evening.
I always thought it might be sugar levels and eat a biscuit or something but it often doesn't do anything. I make sure I'm not hungry when walking too.
Any ideas what this could be?
I am being investigated currently for thyroid issues - high T3, low TSH. An ultrasound has shown thyroid nodules so far.

I too have the same problem when walking alone ..lightheaded and unsteady on feet ..ecg normal and bp normal ..get flushed and clammy..doctors have no idea what’s causing it..🫤
I have just added to my post that I'm being investigated for thyroid issues but not sure that would cause this. It's really annoying isn't it. I had a 24 hour ECG and of course it didn't happen!
I sometimes feel like that too, usually when I've been doing something active, carrying or moving things, which I know puts a strain on the heart. It also happens if I stand still for awhile, I think because of low BP and blood pooling in legs due to poor circulation. Noone has been able to explain it for sure though. When it happens I have to quickly sit or lie down, otherwise I feel like I'm about to throw up.
I get like that when my blood pressure is low...if that helps. Especially in hot weather. But I also have thyroid issues as well as the heart stuff. And have rheumatoid arthritis (which involves lots of meds), have endometriosis and am menopausal. So it's difficult to tell what's driving any symptoms. And whether it's the medication or the condition. Do you keep well hydrated? Are you on medication? Worth a chat with your GP at least, I would think.
Thank you, I'll make more of an effort to check my blood pressure when it happens.I'm very well hydrated so definitely not that. I'm doing a 24 urine test today for possible thyroid issues and I've done 2400ml in three wees!
I to get feelings like that when walking ( light headed or not quiet in step and at times feel shaky) or if I have been working in the garden for example. I have to stop and rest have a drink then I may feel tired; this only started this year. I have also, had a lot of head rushes, not as soon as I stand but when I have got up and walked across a room.
Like you I thought it was blood sugar, so, I make sure I carry a something with me. Waiting to see Endocrinology.
A couple of months ago I was diagnosed with angina.
Sorry I have no advice for you, thank you for sharing as it never crossed my mind that those feelings may be related to the angina or something else.
Thank you, it's reassuring I'm not alone with this but also annoying we are all getting it and noone knows why.I saw an endocrinologist last week and am having lots of tests so maybe something will come up there.
I saw endocrinologist last week..wasn’t very helpful but my thyroid is sitting at 5.8 after being over medicated so hopefully that might be my answer..I’m glad to hear other people are having issues…don’t feel so alone now❤️
Good luck, I hope they find an answer for you. I would be interested know if they find something and it does relate to the light headed feelings etc. All the best.
I occasionally experience something similar but have come to accept that the doctors are unlikely to find a single cause
in my case I feel this is partly due to a combination of light fatigue delayed food intake and ongoing ME/CFS along with late effects of apast Takotsubo episode
I just sit and breathe through it, if possible with a drink(water or other) and take it easy for a while
interesting that you experience this on your way home, could it be partly because you are a bit tired after whatever took you out of your home?
I would suggest you look up Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (aka POTS or Autonomic Dysfunction) and check out if you have other correlating symptoms. It can occur as a post viral condition, or be a result of other underlying conditions. If, when looking at the symptoms it all sounds familiar, tell your GP and they can get you referred to a rheumatologist or cardiologist to look deeper into it for you, as test results will usually look infuriatingly "normal".
If the GP confirms, and while you're waiting to see the specialist, keep your electrolytes & fluids up, wear compression socks, and take regular breaks so you don't overdo it. x
Thank you, that certainly could be a possibility! I'm currently being investigated for possible thyroid issues which also have similar symptoms. I'll mention it to my endocrinologist and my cardiologist when I see him.
I know exactly what you mean - like walking with foam legs! I did a complete blood test and it found I was very low in Vit D. Since stuffing myself daily with Vit D + K2, the foam legs seem to be going. Worth a full blood test to check for vits etc.
I take a high dose of Vitamin D3 and K2 so I'd be really surprised if I'm low but my endocrinologist has done a blood test to check my levels so guess I'll find out soon!
Both my Endo and my GP kept requesting Vit D test and sending in the blood. The lab refused. In the end the GP wrote something on the request and it was done. (stroppy cow, old fart?) It showed I was very low so he gave me a prescription for Vit D tablets, the strength of which it would have taken me over a year to get anywhere! I bought the Vit D and K2 spray and am making headway.
Thank you, definitely not to do with hydrated. I'm currently doing a 24 hour urine test and so far today I've done 2400ml of wee! It's very light coloured.
