Lisonopril and CKD
Hi everyone I have been diagnosed with CKD recently and my GFR dropped down to 54. Apparently it was 60 a year ago but I wasnt even informed about. It looks like a steady decline over years. Im 61 and have a high blood pressure and have been taking Lisonpril 20mg for about 10 years. Now my GP suggested

Hello. I discovered I have high blood pressure in March this year. I tried Ramipril 2.5mg but I noticed tinnitus developing, plus it wasn’t effective so I changed to amlodipine 5mg, not effective, increased dose to 10mg, ankles started swelling plus palpitations, plus not hugely effective, so switched

Does anyone take amlodipine besylate 5mg for high blood pressure? Any issues?
The side effects are scary. I want to lower to 2.5 mg. Daily.

Why do I feel pain in my left chest area several hours after orgasm?
Pain in my chest worsens hours after orgasm. 61 year old male. Told my heart is ok. Feel warm tightness in chest and fingers of left hand. Blood pressure is high 158 over 90. I take 10 mg of Lisinapril and 5 mg of amlodipine each morning.

Blood pressure and T
A little while ago someone was asking about blood pressure medication and T. I said I would report back at some time so here I am. When I got my T a year ago I was so floored I wouldn't take any medication of any kind including blood pressure medication. It started in the middle of taking a lot of antibiotics

Old age, pred or just plain stupid?
I meticulously counted out preds and amlodipine before a 4 day trip to Amsterdam. So far so good but, on arrival, found only enough amlodipine for 2 nights..aaaaagh, panic, what now? Found a chemist suspecting he would send me off to a doctor's to then return with a prescription. 'How many would you

Angiogram showed blockage in LAD.
Hi I was diagnosed with 50-60% blockage in LAD after angiogram in May last year. Put on statins, aspirin & amlodipine. Had a stress test last Aug & finally saw cardiologist last week who said to stay on meds. Stress test showed no problems. Advised to stay on meds as stable at moment. Blood pressure

Drugs
Having a panic at the moment! Been prescribed drugs for high blood pressure. Panicking that they’re making my t worse. Very tempted to stop taking them, but my GP says they’re necessary. I’m only taking small doses 2.5mg Ramipril and 5mg Amlodipine daily. I made the mistake of googling about these drugs

Bisoprolol AND Amlodipine?
As I popped my morning pharmaceuticals it struck me that I'm taking two medications that seem to both be there to control blood pressure, albeit through different mechanisms. The CCBs predated my recent OHS with the beta blockers being prescribed on discharge. I've only ever been mildly hypertensive

Any bright ideas?
Hi. I recently moved from Warfarin to Dabigatran prior to a trip to Malaysia. While there I had double vision and felt dire, when I got home I started having TIAs and asked to revert. That transition went wrong and I had a mild stroke. The medics put me on Rivaroxaban but the TIAs continued so they switched

A good side effect to blood pressure medication.... 🙂
I was recently found to have had an increase in my blood pressure, despite already taking Ramipril which had seemed to be doing a good job. So I’ve been prescribed an additional BP control medication, Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. There are various negative side effects, ankle swelling being
