Taxol

Hi there I'm on 2nd line weekly Taxol for recurrance 2 months after end of first line treatment. I am considering whether to self fund Avastin to be added to the Taxol.

I've had 6 cycles of Carboplatin/Taxol chemo, gone through being bald-actually losing hair everywhere(!), aching joints and fatigue, sore palms/soles, am out the other side in many ways and feel very lucky. Looking back though...

Does it cause hair loss like taxol ??? And what side effects ?? Appreciate any response. Thanks

Am now on 2nd line weekly Taxol. I have been trying to read up a bit about platinum resistance and some medical articles talk about platinum rechallenge ie reintroducing carbo/cisplatin with other drugs to reverse the resistance.

My WBC has dropped this week from 7.3 to 3.5 so I guess doctor will give me something to bring it up next week.have not lost any hair yet, so we will see next week So far I am very happy with the TAXOL AND I hope it is kicking my cancers butt. Barbara

Hello all, 10 months after my mum was diagnosed with low grade OC, stage 3c, deemed inoperable, gone through 6 cycles Carbo-taxol-bevacizumab with tiny response, still inoperable, further 6 cycles of bevacizumab, stable disease...

I finished my chemo yesterday. 18 sessions of Carbo/Taxol in all plus a huge surgery. My oncologist says I am cancer free. Hard to believe. Now begins my follow up sessions with him and with my surgeon. I want to have surgery to reverse my ileostomy reversed.

- Carbo/Taxol - and her CA125 was 11 for a couple of times then it went up to 14 at the last three month check which made me panic so such relief when she told me it was now 9!! Just wanted to share this positive news with you. Sending hugs. Jane XXX

This small trial has 3 arms: a) Taxol, b) Olaparib and c) Olaparib and Cediranib. I am 6 days into arm c. This is also a crossover trial which means that if you recur on the Taxol arm while on the trial you get offered Olaparib.

Just done 14 dose's of Taxol to be told yesterday its stopped working.. so consultant wants me to go on TOPOTECAN.. anybody had this chemo to give bit information.. and side effects.. it will be everyday for 4 days then 3 weeks off.. thank you for your support sending big hugs to you all xxxx

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask if anyone had been on Tamoxifen for Peritoneal ovarian cancer, just finished 16 weeks of Taxol the week before Xmas my ca125 had been dancing around the sixty mark, it last week when I saw my oncologist it had gone up to 97,but I did catch a bug which possibly pushed

I had 6 sessions of carbo platinum taxol, debulking surgery half way through treatment and then had maintenance therapy of 13 sessions of Avastin! For now I’m doing well and bouncing back nicely! Antibody out there have have a similar regime of treatment and how are you doing now?

Fallopian tube carcinoma, 3B, high grade, serous, surgery 18 dec. 2017, 9 carboplatin, taxol.

I had an unsuccessful debulking surgery in May 2015 and started Carbo/Taxol in June 2015. In August 2015, I had another debulking surgery which was successful and completed 9 more weekly chemo treatments.

I picked back up w/Carbo/Taxol again Jan-April 2018. That brought me into remission again, but for only 5 mos. It showed up again in Sept of last yr. In Nov, I started Doxil/Avastin.

YAY!!! I was so nervous thinking I would be nauseas or get diarrhea during treatment. But it was an easy day no side effects so far. I am home now. Next treatment next Thursday. Hope they all go this well. I know I will get some side effects and lose hair but I will take a good day when I can get it

My doctor started me on taxol/Carbo/Avastin and my ca125 went from 331 to 48. Right before my last treatment my ca125 rose to 54. I have a ct scan Friday, March 1 and will do Avastin for maintenance every 3 weeks. I’m really nervous since I feel like my treatment drugs are limited.

My question is - has anyone gone for 6 chemos (she’s on taxol/carbon) and then on watch and wait? How long was your remission? Again thank you everyone for your continued support, this board is a god send

Had hysterectomy in June - then 18 weeks Taxol with every 3rd week Carbo too. Finished chemo end of October and finally feeling a bit stronger and hair is returning. Ca125 was initially over 2500 - but since surgery and throughout chemo stayed under 10.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 Breast cancer in 2013, had taxol and “gold standard” in chemo as well as radiation. Was going on my fifth year -and found out Dec/2018 it had Mets. To my stomach. I have been on IBrance and Letazole for a year. I do the three weeks on and one week off.
