Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask if anyone had been on Tamoxifen for Peritoneal ovarian cancer, just finished 16 weeks of Taxol the week before Xmas my ca125 had been dancing around the sixty mark, it last week when I saw my oncologist it had gone up to 97,but I did catch a bug which possibly pushed the marker up, she has decided to put me on Tamoxifen, has anyone had the experience of this drug which is usually used for breast cancer. Happy new year to us all on this site. Menai xx

Hi Menai. I've been on it for about 4 months prior to my low grade serous OC recurrence. It caused me to be tired and slightly nauseous about half of the time. Best of luck with it! Xx. Maus

Thank you for your reply, I have only been on it a week and it’s a month trial, hoping it will work to get a rest from chemo, I’ve had three lots of different chemo in less than two years and I’m platinum sensitive to Carboplatin, all the best Menai xx

Hello, I was on it for about 3 weeks just before Xmas after a long stint on weekly Taxol. My CA125 had also risen to 60 (beginning of Dec) I came off it to go onto the SRA-737 Sierra trial. I’m on the second week of that now. I’m pretty sure Tamoxifen wasn’t for me but I do wish you every success. The side effects I had from it, I can only describe as like period pains...clearly not the case as I’ve had everything out but that’s what it felt like. Lots of luck, Jane x

Thank you for your reply, I have been on Tamoxifen for a week now, no side effects at the moment I’m on a months trial to see how it goes. They would not operate on me because of the chance of it spreading to my bowel and bladder. This disease is terrible all you want is to see a light at the end of a long tunnel. I hope the trial goes very well for you wish you every luck. Menai x

Yes, I did intraperitinel chemotherapy with tamoxifen and cysplaten, then later switched to tamoxifen and carboplaten. I did IV chemo with IP chemo 18 rounds in 14 weeks, I've been cancer free 5 yrs come April 2019. Worked well for me hopefully you'll get similar results. ❤❤❤Liz

I had carboplaten and Taxol, 19 months ago, then then carboplaten and gemcatabine, they had to stop both of them, I am platinum sensitive, just finished 16 weeks of Taxol the week before Xmas, now my oncologist is trying Tamoxifen, my ca125 was hovering in the sixties when I saw her just over a week ago it had risen to 97. I have stage 3 peritoneal cancer, they won’t operate either, I’m hoping it will work I need the rest, you keep fighting and fighting and you don’t realise how weak and frail you become thank you for your reply, it gives me a bit of hope. Thank you for that information, it’s the first I have heard of it I will have to ask my oncologist about it. I am in the uk maybe they don’t allow it on the NHS. Worth asking though, thank you again best wishes to you. Menai. X

I had Tamoxifen for 3 months with little in the way of side effects. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I wish you luck with it. Di
