Results since taking T3
I've just got my bloods back (protocols as per this forum followed). I am speaking to my endo at the end of Feb and would welcome some guidance please. I added T3 (continued with 75mcg Levo). First 2 weeks 5mcg x3 per day and then 10mcg x3 per day ever since. The first month on T3 was really encouraging

Confusing iron panel results
Hi, guys, I'd like to ask for help interpreting my iron panel results. First of all, let me say that this is the first time ever that I have had these tests done, so I don't have anything to compare with. This is what the results look like: Hemoglobin: 155 g/l (reference range: 120 - 160 g/l) Serum

Should I tell my GP I treat myself with NDT ?
Hello , I have to have a blood test to check out a few things in my stomach . I have been treating myself successfully with NDT that is unlicensed. I do my own finger prick blood tests to ensure my FT3 level is in range but I do of course have suppressed FT4 level . Should I tell the GP I take NDT or

Advice please!
Hi all, I’m new here, but I’ll try to be as brief as possible! I’ve been treated for Hypothyroidism since 2004 ( diagnosed by the late, great Dr Gordon Skinner by my symptoms and not the biochemistry thankfully) All well for past 19 or so years, on T4 125ug and then T3 4 x 20ug added gradually 12

New Consultant-Different Plan
Long story short- long battle to get diagnosis although received in 2019 and Hashimoto’s confirmed. After several attempts to stabilise on mono therapy I was lucky enough after several years of strife and illness to be allocated an endo who listened to me, took cortisol levels (low) addisons test (

Subclinical hypothroidism resolving after 3 weeks?! And TTC/fertility issues
Hi all, Hoping someone can help me to make sense of this and to see if I am worrying unnecessarily. I have been TTC for 4 months with no luck, which I know isn't long. 2 years ago I was told I had subclinical hypothroidism (TSH 5.5) and other results normal. I did a private test about 3-4 weeks ago

blood results
Been on 50mcg for a few months and have recently been feeling awful again, so I requested repeat bloods. Results came back today: TSH 4.37 (0.3-4.2) T4: 13.8 (9-19) T3: 4.6 (3-5.4) really hope the doctors won’t argue about an increase to 75mcg 😭 I feel so shoddy doing even minimal increases so

follow up to previous post. Help please.
Hi all, I previously posted on behalf of my Mom. TSH, B12, folate and vitamin D below was taken 21/12/23. GP prescribed 50,000 unit 1 a week for 6 weeks vitamin D caps. So we see the ones called calceous 400 unit with calcium 1 twice a day did not maintain her level. So that could be one reason why she

dose enquiry
Hi all 😊 On 125.5mcg levothyroxine my TSH went down to below normal, so my doctor reduced the dose to 100mcg. I did a medicheck test 13-12-23 TSH 2.43 (0.27-4.2 T3 4.1 (3.1-6.8) T4 18 (12-22) Dose increased again to 125.5mcg and my TSH has gone down : TSH 0.19 (0.27-4.2) T4 21.6 (12.0-22.0

Pub med article challenging traditional TSH-based approach
Hope the web address works - interesting! [i]In a study evaluating tissue function tests before total thyroidectomy and at 1 year postoperatively when using LT4, it was found that peripheral tissue function tests indicated mild hyperthyroidism at TSH <0.03 mU/L and mild hypothyroidism at TSH 0.3

Hi, I was diagnosed with Afib after suffering a TIA in April 2021. Amioderone and xarelto controlled it until after 6 months amioderone caused my thyroid to quadruple. So stopped amioderone. After xarelto resulted in an internal hip bleed was switched to Eliquis. Had an ablation Jan 2023 so still

amiodarone effect on NDT
Hi Everyone.I've just had a heart op and have been put on amiodarone for three weeks. I know this drug is known to damage a healthy thyroid. I'm just wondering what effect it has on someone optimally treated for hypothyroidism with NDT. My worry is will it lower the conversion of Thyroid hormones..

Why would my FT4 change?
Hi, My thyroid has been ok for some years now, I have generally felt quite well. A recent GP blood test flagged up that my FT4 is at the bottom of the range. I am currently taking 120mg of NDT, I was on 240mg for many years but was told I must reduce my dosage as my TSH was 0.05. I reduced the dosage

graves journey update
Thought I’d follow up post endocrinology appointment. New blood tests came back FT4 11.5 (range 11-22) TSH > 0.01 So whilst my FT4 is making great strides in reduction and the 20mg carbimazole is working, TSH still needs to wake up. All hyperthyroid symptoms have gone. Feel the least anxious I

Update after GP call
Had my call with the GP that I mentioned in my last posts. That was a bit of a disaster, although not as bad as it could have been. She did not read my notes or blood test results before the call. She asked me about symptoms, but was only concerned about weight gain and dry skin. I had already gone
