Hi all 😊

On 125.5mcg levothyroxine my TSH went down to below normal, so my doctor reduced the dose to 100mcg. I did a medicheck test

13-12-23

TSH 2.43 (0.27-4.2

T3 4.1 (3.1-6.8)

T4 18 (12-22)

Dose increased again to 125.5mcg and my TSH has gone down :

TSH 0.19 (0.27-4.2)

T4 21.6 (12.0-22.0) what to do? I have symptoms still.

Tests are being done to rule out other causes

You really need a fT3 result for 125mcg dose to see how well you are converting...

Your results for 100mcg...

Free T4 (fT4) 18 pmol/L (12 - 22) 60.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 4.1 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 27.0%

T4:T3 Ratio 4.390 

So not great, how are your folate, B12 , Vit D and ferritin levels? All need to be optimal to aid conversion

Great.... low TSH is nothing to worry about, getting your free's in the right place, within range optimal for you is the important bit... don't let them drop your dose again 🤗 you could just tweak it by dropping 25mcg once or twice a week which might help with conversion

Were both tests done under our usual guidance.. fasted before 9am and 24 hours after last dose?

Yes, tests done as recommended. I will try to stay on the higher dose, thank you.
