Hello, your results show that your hormone levels are pretty low. I think you need an increase maybe to both or maybe just the T3. I don’t think you’re converting the T4 well as your T3 needs to be higher. Your TSH is also too high for someone taking hormones.

Are you prescribed these hormones? What time did you do the test? How are your vitamin levels? You may need to boost some to improve conversion & absorption. Do you take tablets away from food & drink or other meds?

Hi Bertwills, thanks for your reply.

I took the test @ 9am in the morning and last medication T3/T4 was 24 hours before. I do take them 1 hr before food.

Agree with you i might need to boost up my conversion rate

When did you take your last dose of Levo & T3?

Do you do tests as per the protocol recommended here? Recommended blood test protocol: Test at 9am (or as close as possible), fasting, last levo dose 24hrs before the blood draw, last T3 dose 8-12 hours before blood draw & no biotin containing supplements for 3-7 days (Biotin can interfere with thyroid blood results as it is used in the testing process).

Testing like this gives consistency in your results and will show stable blood levels of hormone and highest TSH which varies throughout the day. Taking Levo/T3 just prior to blood draw can show a falsely elevated result and your GP/Endo might change your dose incorrectly as a result.

32.5mcgs Levo is a low dose when in a combination with T3. Suggest you raise Levo by 25mcgs and retest in 6-8 weeks.

What supplements do you take?

What are your latest results for ferritin, folate, B12 & D3?

Hi Jaydee

Thank you for your reply.

I took test at 9am and last intake of T3/T4 medication just 24 hours.

Agree my t4 levels are low, so i tried increasing my T4 medication but it's making me gain weight steadily.

I didn't test for vitamin levels or take any supplements... do these have huge impact on our absorption of thyroid meds?

24hrs spacing is just for Levo.

For T3 on day before test split your dose into 2 or 3 portions and take last portion 8-12hrs before blood test is due.

Your FT3 is a false low as too long from taking last dose until test.

Raising all 4 key vitamins to optimal is essential for best use of thyroid hormone in the body.

Suggest you get ferritin, folate, b12 & D3 tested which are often low of not deficient due to gut issues caused by being hypo.
