Questions about getting my wife pregnant, while having APS...
My doctor started me on Warfarin and
Synthroid
which have been working well. My thyroid is under control and my INR is around 3. I feel great now compared to what it was like a year ago, but I have also gained weight and am not as active as I would like to be.

Interesting story about thyroid treatment back to 1955
I highly suspect she was taking NDT since I don't think
Synthroid
was available then. He said she was healthy and energetic. I thought this was interesting.

Does medication screw up the thyroid hormones if prematurely treating a euthyroid syndrome?
I convinced the doctor to start me on
Synthroid
. Now check this out, compared to that 12% T4 and 37% T3. After being put on
Synthroid
, T4/T3 fluctuated around third in range. TSH around 2. On 75mg T3 matched the 37%, T4 38%. 100mg T4 shot to 79%, T3 drops to 31%, TSH drops to 0.57.

Any Success with Using Cytomel (Liothyronine) Alone?
After recently experiencing many negative health symptoms, that I knew were thyroid related, and undergoing many blood tests to rule out other health issues, I've have finally figured out that it was
Synthroid
causing all the problems. I've been taking
Synthroid
along with Cytomel for 3 years.

Now my doctor wants to start me on
Synthroid

Could someone with low FT3 do ok on Levothyroxine only?
I was afraid to do the
Synthroid
from the many layers of horrible I've read about it, but now I wonder is there any truth to
Synthroid
, or is it wholly awful. I mean, if one has high or midrange FT4, would they take t3 only?

First labs on NDT and I'm confused and dismayed. Some symptoms better. Some worse.

Lab Results: Confusing
So while the T4 dropped, the T3 improved on 88mcg
Synthroid
. On the 100mcg
Synthroid
, while the T4 had gone above the 75% of range, the conversion was lacking and T3 Free was less than it is now. I don't want to experience the frequent bowels I had on that dose.

Levothyroxine for Sluggish Thyroids: Weekly or Daily?
The drug levothyroxine (
Synthroid
, Levoxyl, others) has long been the treatment for sluggish thyroids or hypothyroidism. The pill needs time to be absorbed properly, so patients are often instructed to take it daily a half hour to an hour before breakfast.

High TSH causes?
I was told at that point I had hypothyroidism and was offered
synthroid
but politely declined as she said treating it wasn't necessary since everything else besides tsh was fine.

Dr. Said she's never seen this
She's switching me to
synthroid
50mcg. Not sure what happened there, she said it's so weird to her, but I hope the change helps! Any insight?

Switching from Morning to Night Advice
I'm going to switch from taking my 88mcg
Synthroid
in the morning (hour before breakfast) to night. Just a few questions. How should I make the switch, take my morning dose and then again that night, or skip my morning dose the day of the switch?

Transitioning from Synthroid to Porcine Thyroid extract
She seems to think the transition would be easy but I know coming off
Synthroid
is not straightforward. I wanted to taper the
Synthroid
off first and build up the extract (I have, I think 60mg caps but will check this). Anyone done this and how did they react? Am I over-worrying about this?

Upped EFRA thyroid tsh ft3 and ft4 all decreased
I want to cut back on ndt and add half of my
synthroid
dose backvto try and get the best of both worlds. I believe I convert t4 to T3 well from
synthroid
but also want the calcitonin, T1 and T2 provided by the EFRA. Has anyone tried this? I know I don't find many people who feel like I do.
