It's back... ugh...I'm in the 6%
In 2003 I was diagnosed with DCIS in left breast when I was 44 ( pre-menopausal). I had a lumpectomy followed by 6 weeks of radiation therapy. No chemo. Attempted Tamoxifen, but I was allergic to it and since I was pre-menopause there was not an alternative. In 2011, I was diagnosed with ADH in my right

"My relationship got stronger after breast cancer"
Breast cancer survivors know better than anyone that life shifts into two distinct parts: before and after. You change and so do your relationships, in and out of bed. How could they not? It’s been said that after a cancer diagnosis, strong relationships become stronger while weak ones become weaker

Stage 0 DCIS Double Mastectomy
I am going in for surgery in March for a double mastectomy (one by choice). I will have the tissue expanders and then proceed in time with the reconstruction to have the implants put in. How bad is this whole procedure? I am so nervous about the pain afterwards. I have two small kids and its killing

First time looking at incision site after surgery
Good morning everyone. Had my mastectomy in Tuesday. Am nervous about seeing site for first time. Any suggestions on how to deal with it? I know I have to put my "big girl panties" on and deal with it. It just helps to hear from other who have been through this before me. Thank you!

Double mastectomy in 6 days
I'm finding a lot of extra steps I'm having to do that I'm being told last minute. The dye injection- does that hurt? Why wasn't I told about it before? Will I need to know anything else? Do I need to do anything else?

I am 63. On the 19th of January I had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. I will begin chemo next week. I will have Taxotere and Cytoxan. I'm not sure I'm spelling them correctly. Also anyone have experience with the Penguin Cold Cap to keep your hair? Any advice appreciated

To worry or not?
This wk I was seen at the breast clinic for a lump in my left breast. It turned out to be a swollen lymph node. In fact all my lymph nodes in that area were swollen. I was so relieved that it wasn't cancer having had mastectomy on my right breast I didn't question why the lymph nodes are swollen. I have

Help! Has anyone experienced Post Operative Delirium??
Mum in law (56) had a total gastrectomy on Monday, with lower half of oesophagus removed too... She's been doing soooo well & been sat out of bed yesterday... Today she started talking very random things & unable to keep her eyes open.... It got worse as the day progressed & they've said it's related

Life without a stomach
Today it's six and a half years since I had a total Gastrectomy. Though I've lead a healthy life; non smoker, non drinker and been actively fit all my life, to learn I had cancer came as no surprise. Nothing much has shocked me in life, though of late I've discovered hidden facts about the parents and

Mastectomy recovery
I am meeting with my breast surgeon tomorrow. For my peace f mind, I decided to have a double mastectomy. I am curious about the recovery. I am horrible at staying still.
