Feeling very despondent
I was diagnosed with PMR in August 2019 and my GP started me on 15 mg per day
steroids
plus other medication to offset the effects of the
steroids
. I immediately started to feel much better but when I dropped down to 10 mg per day I had a flare and had to go back up to 15mg.

Uncertain PMR or EORA?
Good morning, My first visit to see the Rheumatologist referred by GP and taking Naproxen for three months. Hip pain much better but not doing much walking, shoulders heavy with impaired mobility and last four weeks hands stiff and tight feeling. ESR was 50 in March, 76 in April. CRP was 22 March

Learning to live with PMR
Around the same time, some dental treatment requiring 2 days of
steroids
resulted in an immediate 'cure'. Finally when I saw a rheumatologist in September and told him this, he diagnosed PMR - I'd never heard of it!

I have had right shoulder pain for weeks. The pain starts in my shoulder and then across my upper back. I have had it over the years but this time it’s been really bad. With all the problems trying to see a doctor I have just been taking co-codamol. In the end with the pain and not sleeping I managed

Can
steroids
affect them at all? Sleep much better now the pain has gone or diminished. Sometimes sleep in the day as well. If you feel tired then sleep. Even a short nap is good. Sleep heals Only downside of pred is that I now have an appetite....which is not helpful weightwise.

Lynparza - warning!
If you are on Lynparza, or I guess even worse, Lynparza + additional hormone therapy (
are know to lower lymphocytes as well) please do not rely solely on monthly test results. If you feel drastic change, don't necessary attribute it to disease, it could be side effect from treatment.

I doubled my
steroids
as recommended by my adrenal help nurse. Forgot to ask how to reduce. I know I can go straight back to original dose after a week. If on a higher dose for 2 weeks or more do you have to taper off slowly? Appreciate advice

ADVICE PLEASE
Are these other drugs just as bad as
steroids
- i.e. substitute one bad drug for another bad drug. Your advice will be very much appreciated.

Update on my Dexa Scan.
I presume this means use of
steroids
? Very confused with that as when the scan was done in May I had only used a 15 day course of
steroids
once since being diagnosed in 2004. I don’t think these scores need me to start medication so I’m very relieved. Is the Fracture risk high at 24.9%?

Doctor asked what dose of
steroids
are you on? 2.25 mg daily I said. So, you are on 2 25mg? It just went downhill from there

Unwelcome Relapse
As you will know from one of my recent posts I had managed to get down to 4 and a half mg after more than 3 years on
Steroids
starting at 15 mg. I stayed at that level for 3 months, feeling OK and thinking that it might be time to drop down to 4mg.

FET #4- embryo transfer done today
I am currently on oestradiol, prog supps and SC injection, aspirin,
steroids
, clexane and started intralipids two weeks prior to transfer. We are really putting all our energy into this and I am really tired from the medication. Let this be our turn 🤞 From, Worrier 🤣

Teeth!
Following three months of intermittent neutropenia,
steroids
and 1 month of Obinutuzumab, just noticed some really marked yellow staining on my teeth, around the gums where you'd expect plaque/bacteria to pool. Slightly horrified as I've been going all out to keep them clean to prevent infection.
