Fostair and steroids

I’ve been given a 5 day course of prednisone and am on Fostair two puffs twice a day.

Is it ok to continue with the Fostair whilst on the steroids? I’d upped the puffs to 2 puffs x3 a day before I was given the steroids

Yes. Continue.

totally fine. Don’t stop your inhaler. The steroids are just “on top of” so to speak.

Yes, absolutely. I am on the same dose as you and have to take oral steroids & antibiotics when my asthma becomes exacerbated.

Hi Lizogg, I hope you don't mind me asking but how do you find the Fostair Inhaler? I have recently been prescribed this by my GP although haven't got it yet. Just wondering how effective it is? Thanks.

My asthma has been fairly well controlled on it but have had an exacerbation this last week which came on after having a virus which went on my chest. I’d say it’s ok but I’m going for a review soon so will see what they say as I might need to increase them after this exacerbation
