Steroids and Ibuprofen
My doctor has said under no circumstances to take any medication containing ibuprofen because of my
steroids
. Paracetomol does nothing to relieve the pain, co-codamol makes me ill. I read on the forum other people take ibuprofen which I think would help me. Any ones thoughts?

Risk of PMR to GCA
If PMR isn’t treated with
steroids
, what % then go on to develop GCA? This figure must be different to the 20% of people who will go on to develop GCA when taking
steroids
. Hope I’m making sense?

9dp3dt - feeling awful!
I’m on 6 cyclogest a day, 1 progesterone shot a day, x2 Clexane injections a day and 20mg
steroids
a day. It might just be my body going into a bit of a meltdown! Has anyone else had this? Thanks for your support <3 Mel

Hi all , I'm just wondering if anyone knows how long you have to wait after steroid injection in the bottom before having gallbladder removal I've been told operation will be in 2 to 3 mths unless a cancellation comes in. But a friend said I'll have to wait 3mths now

Puzzled
I went for a Rheumatology appointment yesterday as I’d had to stop Etanercept for the 2nd time due to tonsillitis, itchy rash sore eyes, blurred vision etc. I saw a nurse practitioner who said I didn’t need a steroid injection and because and I have another appointment with my new Consultant in November

Tapering much harder the second time around.
Got loaded up on
steroids
in hospital for 4 days and sent home with Rx 40, 30, 20 mgm decreasing weekly. I have now secondary adrenal insufficiency - of course-without any PMR symptoms. I am now on 8mgm tapering to 7.5 dsns .

From Prednisone to Morphine
I was wondering if anyone had been offered Morphine as an alternative to Prednisone? It’s been suggested to me by my new Rheumatologist recently. He’s questioning my diagnosis of PMR & suggests the pain is due to “wear & tear”. My pain is symmetrical, in all the usual places (knees, hips, shoulders,

Tinnitus and Meniere's
Has anyone ever received Intratympanic steroid injection in their ear(s) for Tinnitus or Meniere's? I was just curious if it was worth it and made matters better. Is the injection painful or create other issues? My ENT has recommended it for my left ear which has a variety of issues. Thanks.

Rheumatologist appointment help
He also dropped my
steroids
down to ten, I am in agony and currently signed off work, taking co-codamol to try and get through each day. So, the appointment is tomorrow, what can I expect? I am nervous.

Finally a little light!
Many of you have been kind in giving me advice and support over the last year, especially when I was 'wading through treacle'. A few weeks ago I had another steroid injection and leflunomide added to my MTX. I hardly dare say this but I'm actually starting to feel better. My joints have gone down so

Why did my legs hurt and why couldn't I see
I cannot speak highly enough of the eye hospital, they diagnosed and explained the problem and immediately put me on
steroids
(60mg per day). I was also fast tracked to Rheumatology at Poole Hospital and I had the appointment through within 4 days.

AIH and Azathioprine
Not thrilled about it, especially as
steroids
seem to be bringing my levels down just fine, but the consultant is a good 'un so I'm trusting I'm going on it for a reason. Been warned about the hideousness of the first few weeks but interested if anyone is on it long-term? Let me know!

Reaching out.
Chest nurse suggested trying to now catch exacerbation with
steroids
first, rather than other way round, resorting to the antibiotics if it gets away from me. Here we go round the mulberry bush! Best wishes to everyone 🍀

Hi all - I have previously seen posts about increasing preds for dental treatment, is this all treatment or specific things? and does it still apply at low levels? I am having a crown fitted for a broken tooth and am currently on 2mbs/1.5mgs - DSNS! Thanks

Pes Anserine Bursitis - steroid injection offered.
On Thursday I had an appointment with a rheumatologist who had previously been quite impatient and dismissive of me. I made up my mind to give him the briefest details of my woes over the last 9 months. (This is a 6 monthly appointment 😂). He was happy for me to continue with my slow tapering and then
