Increasing steroids for dental treatment

Hi all - I have previously seen posts about increasing preds for dental treatment, is this all treatment or specific things? and does it still apply at low levels? I am having a crown fitted for a broken tooth and am currently on 2mbs/1.5mgs - DSNS! Thanks

Tell your dentist that you are on steroids. Mine gave me a steroid free anaesthetic when I had two front tooth root canals and was grateful to be aware. Incidentally the procedure made me realise just how much dental treatment had improved. It was not the ordeal I expected at all.

Thnak you - he does know as, early on my PMR journey, when I had taken Allendronic acid for a while, I had a couple of teeth crumble so that was obviously a time for good cover . . I will remind him. He is a great guy ...

On one occasion, whilst on 4mg, my dentist asked me to take 5mg on the day of a tooth extraction.

Generally, and I usually need follow-up treatment each time I have a check up, there have been no instructions to increase. I haven't had any problems. I'm still on 4mg so can't share any experience at your lower dose.
