Covid Antiviral eligibility
Wasn't sure if I was eligible this time as I'm only on 5mg Pred, having stopped my Methotrexate in November, but the lady who phoned me from the Covid Medicines Department said I was eligible as I'd been on
steroids
so long (7 years) and had only 'recently' stopped the MTX.

taking steroids during the night
as I suffer with a fuzzy head for about 4 to 6 hours after taking my
steroids
at breakfast, I am thinking about taking them about 2am. Can I do this and what would I need to eat with them. This would be for about a week after each taper when everything settles down

A bit confused!
When I spoke to the nurse a few days later, she said that
steroids
can raise the White blood cells. But now I’m confused as isn’t that supposed to lower inflammation??? Still trying to get my head around all the info so please bear with me if it’s a silly question 😳😳

New Member seeking advice on tapering down steroids
I want to get my dose reduced as soon as I can because of bad side effects of
steroids
, but its such a balancing act with the symptoms returning. How long do people stay on a dosage before trying to bring it down?

rheumatologist and gp have differing views on treatments.
The
steroids
have caused a lot of health problems and my gp made an appointment to see a rheumatologist. I have seen him once and am going back in two weeks time. The rheumatologist sent a treatment plan to my gp about reducing
steroids
and seeing a neurological plus a gastroenterologist.

Continuous congestion
Chest Xray is clear, sputum clear and doc wont prescribe
steroids
. Just told me to take the blue inhaler twice a day, which I do, but still have congestion. Should I ask for a CT scan of my lungs?

A new RA symptom (ankle)?
I'm happily taking
steroids
, MTX and sulphazalasine and, most likely due to the
steroids
, am feeling relatively good. We'll see how things go now that my dose is tapering below usual effectiveness.

Encephalitis of unknown origin and currently no diagnosis!
Doctors have thrown everything to cover a viral and autoimmune and effectively run out of treatment. currently we have not real response at the moment and there are two areas of swelling in the brain that have not shifted with any treatments

pulse of steroids
Hi I had an IV pulse of
steroids
last Thursday, I was wondering what experience others might have had with this. Initial results were good, better pain relief, swelling in hands much improved, but I still have pain within each joint, especially wrists and knees.

How is your skin?
I recall folks posting about skin issues and AMN a few years back, or did they? Never mind try this for size. Been going on for months and months now, When I'd get my head down on the pillow at night, within minutes it was like my head was crawling, the itching would soon start, heating up. Couldn't

Eczema & Glaucoma
I know that antihistamines are linked to high eye pressure & my glaucoma consultant has already told me that you can ‘reach the point of no return’ even with topical
steroids
so I’m reluctant to continue with Betnovate especially as I’ve already been using it for over six weeks.

Mask wearing!
He said it is because I have active RA, I am taking
steroids
and methotrexate, and the risks from a virus like Covid are a lot higher for me. Do you folks wear a mask when you visit the hospital for example? When I attend a hospital appointment I am the only person in the building wearing a mask!

Senior lady bleeding after restarting HRT
I have a history of severe endometriosis but I am now 75 and restarted HRT patches about six months ago for bone protection as I am on
steroids
. I had a 7 year break because my GP wanted me off HRT because of the research. I had no problems with HRT and wish I had never stopped.

Statins & Steroids
I’ve been advised to take statins due to high cholesterol levels of 7.0, Serum triglycerides 2.3, HDL 2.5, HDL ratio 2.8, LDL 3.4, non HDL 4.5. I’m reluctant to take more meds but I’m unclear of the meaning of all the results and if I should take statins or not. I’ve read some articles stating that
