Steroid timing
So if I take my
steroids
at 2:30am should I take the complete dose of 10mg or split it with 5mg then and the other 5mg when I get up at around 7am? I intend to have a small banana or a drink of kefir to protect my stomach.

HAIR LOSS
Dermatologist said combination of long-term use of
steroids
, Rituximab,Mepacrine any one of these or combination. I know with medical issues over last 11 years I should not be worried about hair loss but it is really getting me down. Any words of wisdom

painful shoulders after dead slow taper to 2mg.
I’m diabetic due to
steroids
. I’ve just started a drop to 2mg, again using a slow taper over a month. But for the last 5 days my shoulders have been hurting and getting worse. It’s not equal though, my left is worse and I’m finding it hard to dress.

NHS On The Ball As Ever, Not.
Anyway it was decided after lots of tests it was an exacerbation of my asthma, I was treated with a nebuliser,
steroids
and a stronger inhaler and released. Fast forward to this week and I got a phone call from the surgery inviting me for an asthma review, something I havent had in years.

Chest infection still! What next?
Just as I’ve finished the last tablets of antibiotics and
steroids
I’m starting to feel worse again. Coughing increased to clear lungs of phlegm and my back is painful when I cough, seems I have to cough more and harder to clear my lungs.

steroid taper heart rate
Im slowly tapering
steroids
as previously posted . I m now down to 3mgms / 4 mgms . This last week my Oura ring tells me my heart rate is raised . Normally middle 50s ,now middle 60s . Could this be the adrenals being kicked or some infection ? Any ideas anyone ? Thanks

Is all the extra medication needed?
I do have hypothyroidism ( years and no problems), but do have quite high BP partially probably due to
steroids
. So I am on 2 lots of BP medication.

I started off with PMR 9 years ago and then developed GCA, I'm sure I still have PMR, but Doctor begs to differ, I came off
steroids
2 years ago, because I was going up and down, and I had a bone scan, and osteoarthritis was everywhere, I had an MRI on lumbar spine, MRI on Cervical spine and MRI on Thigh

Kudos to GP for studying PMR
But it was obvious he has been “boning” up on PMR, adrenal insufficiency, proper and slow way to reduce
steroids
. All in all, it was almost as if he had been on this site. He was much more realistic about the processes of PMR. He reinforced all I have learned here. Thank you, folks.

*sensitive* here we go again
I’ve been here before where it ended very early so trying not to get ahead of myself… this was our 3rd transfer.. it was a FET and we nearly cancelled it completely as my lining only got to 6.7mm but we made the decision to go for it… we’ve thrown extra testing and
steroids
at it this time so just hoping

Remission vs controlled disease
If this is correct, I am not in remission, as I’m on Cimzia, but no
steroids
or other RA drugs. I get a few aches and pains, a bit of fatigue, but am generally functional at a near-normal level.

White blood cells continue to rise.....Dr Cheung confirmed that this is due to the

Has anyone had IVIG as well as intralipids - within the same cycle?
My last cycle I had IVIG,
steroids
and clexane (no intralipids) with a tested embryo and it failed. This embryo is not tested which actually makes me think maybe I should save the IVIG money for donor egg cycles (as I am less confudent than I was with the tested embryo)?

rheumatoid arthritis
I’m on (tocilizumab) and Methotrexate injections once a week plus 10 mg
steroids
. I’ve had lots of falls because of my knee giving way. I’m trying to build up my muscles but finding this difficult because I’ve got a tear in shoulder from previous fall.
