Could the
steroids
be a contributing factor? Also is this something I should bring to my rheumatology teams notice? Thank you 😊 Mel

Not believed
I felt awful over Xmas and my rheumatologist put me on
steroids
. I then got pneumonia again and was on 2 more weeks of
steroids
. When I come off
steroids
all my symptoms flare and my hand swelled up again. The GP then put me on more
steroids
.

stopped Pred but pain & stiffness came in knees. GP says it isn’t PMR
Wants me off
steroids
sharpish. What do others think? Is knee and hand pain usual in PMR?

Within two hours I got a text saying they were prescribing
steroids
and I could pick them up at the chemist next door to the surgery later that afternoon. Btw I have an emergency pack of
steroids
for my asthma.

GCA/PMR and spa treatments
My question is with regards to getting massage while on
steroids
and while having GCA/PMR as my mum got a spa voucher for my sister and I and herself at Christmas. The SPA are aware my mums on long term
steroids
but I am still a bit concerned about what treatments it's safe for my mum to get.

Well, I'm flabbergasted!
His advice is to slowly reduce the Pred. and that the pain I have constantly is probably caused by the
steroids
. I am really hoping he is right! Any feedback from you would be welcome!

Metaxalone.
I was diagnosed with PMR September 2023 but I'm unable to have
steroids
. Due to a heart condition I'm also unable to have Immuno suppresants. My Rheumy has now prescribed Metaxalone for pain relief.

dizziness and weaknesd
I’m currently having a weekly injection of tocilizumab and 10mg
steroids
. My PMR feels under control but I’m feeling intense dizziness with any activity and a weakness especially noticeable in my arms, something I never felt before. Is this just part of the recovery after being so unwell ?

GCA or Occipital Neauralgia
I’ve had a biopsy which came back negative, because previously my doctor prescribed
steroids
for inflammation and head pain. Rheumatologist prescribed 50mg of prednisone after a while to be gradually reduced.

High dose Prednisolone and effects
My problem is the treatment, i.e
steroids
, is making me ill in other ways, completely spaced out, jittery, fatigue, confusion, need to sleep, nausea and bloating, has anyone else struggled with this, does it get easier or do have to live like this until steroid dose comes down below 15mg?

dealing with Norovirus
Can anyone advise what to do if I am unable to take my daily dose of
steroids
due to sickness? Or if i'm sick after I take my
steroids
(coated Pred) will they still be ok? You really are the experts and my only real guidance as to what I may need to do in the event.
