6 Months Post Treatment Report
8 months post treatment at present. Had six month review with RO. Decided on SBRT due to surgical, erectile and urinary issues with RP. Prior abdominal surgery means DiVinci machine could not be used, and few doctors do a lot of open procedures. Used SBRT on a MRL machine (MRI guided radiation treatment

Bone scans can lie!
I had 3 bone scans in the last 18-months, the last one in May 2021, all negative. Then I had a PSMA scan on 2nd June, due to my rising PSMA, which went from < 0.1 when I stopped ADT to 3.2. It showed - "Bones: There are three or less osseous metastases (Oligo). -1.3 x 0.8 cm lesion with central lucency

Androgen receptor (AR) heterogeneity ... and therapy resistance
New paper below [1]. Back in 2004, PubMed had the findings of a few studies that looked at PCa androgen receptor [AR] at diagnosis & in hormone refractory prostate cancer (HRPC), as CRPC was then called. At diagnosis - meaning before treatment - the AR was essentially 'wild type'. From a

SBRT or LDR Brachytherapy Treatment Options for 54 Year Old w/GG2 Diagnosis
Recently diagnosed in late January 2021 and am exploring treatment options. I turn 54 in August, and my urologist is concerned with radiation therapy at my age. We’ve discussed HIFU and TULSA-PRO as a possible alternatives to RP or RT. Meeting with an RO yesterday to get his perspective on SBRT as it

Follow up appointment
I have just just had my phone appointment with my Oncologist with the results from last month's CT scan. A lot of questions about my breathing, walking distances, if I had a cough and weight loss led me to the news that there was an increase of shadowing around the tumour. I was then asked if I was happy

Advice on when to start salvage RT
Hi all, I am in UK aged 56 and had PSA of 32 late 2014. After RP in Feb 2015, analysis slowed 3+4 T3aN0M0 with bladder neck invasion, negative margins. Initially PSA was undetectable, then 2.5 years later detectable PSA (moving up and down 0.03-0.06 since 2017). My latest reading is 0.076 and I am

Dilemma Stick or Twist?
Background is had RP and a positive margin. Had SRT to prostate bed only. PSA has gradually risen back to 0.11 over a couple of years. I had a Combidex Nano Scan at Nijmegen which identified 4 suspicious lymph nodes (iliaca externa left and one iliaca externa left (cranial). I have just had a telephone

Long-term overall survival of radical prostatectomy patients is often superior to the general population
New German study below [1]. An odd observation. Perhaps the lifestyle changes that men make after diagnosis really do make a difference? It is not surprising that the benefit would diminish with the seriousness of the cancer, but even the high-risk guys did slightly better than the life table. "A total

Radiotherapy for Intermediate Favourable seems successful 26 months later, PSA down to 0.83 and dropping each time so far.
