Hi, I have made another post regarding subacute thyroiditis. I had subacute thyroiditis Feb - June 2022 painless. It never quite went away with some slight hyper symptoms on and off. Roll on to Feb 2022 it kicks back in but alot worse and I have been house bound since. I have very few hyper symptoms

Going back to Thyroid-S from Metavive if I can find a reliable source
I have been taking 1 tablet of Metavive IV for the 6 months but my TSH has now crept up past 5. I was tested 4 months ago at 4.2 and I thought it was an anomaly but a recent test was even higher so something has changed. Thinking of going back to Thyroid-S which worked for me for 3 years or so before

How to improve your blood pressure
I have recently fallen in love. With capillaries. In his brilliant book, ‘The Secret Language of Cells’, Dr John Leif, physician and neuroscientist, dedicates a whole chapter to them, calling these tiny vessels, ‘brain centres’ of tissue development. With a yogic lens, this speaks to the body intelligence

results advice for my daughter please
evening all! please may I ask for some feedback on my daughters most recent bloods? she has previously had 3 above range tsh results but it had seemed to go back down. On one occasion even though her tsh was above range and her t4 low she had above range t3 which was very strange. We’ve done a watch

What is - Thyroid Peroxidase Abs test? High level result.
Hi everyone, I posted a little while ago about my symptoms and test results which were only partly done and resistance from GP to do anything more. Your advice was likely hypothyroidism and to get second opinion. And lots of links to lots of very good information (thanks 😊). I had to wait but

Poor Conversion continued
Hi - see below for response from the local endo to my GP (after he asked for advice re trial of T3 as I have dud deiodinese enzymes which mean I'm a poor converter of T4 to T3) In brief I have Hashimoto's and many symptoms of hypothyroidism despite taking T4 and dose being increased to drag up levels

Concerns that testing in UK is getting worse
I'm hearing that there are moved circulated to move to just Tsh testing only . This will be completely useless. Private testing is not the answer for all as most people can't afford basics at the moment. So many are struggling. Without being political the NHS has been mismanaged and starved of recognition

Results of test with a history of ME/CFS
First of all I have a history of ME/CFS not hypothyroidism. I feel well and have either recovered from ME/CFS or it is in remission, and wanted to get tests while feeling well. My only symptom is tinnitus. I have no fatigue or neurological complaints otherwise at present although i have had lots of fatigue

Interferon and Hypothyroidism
I have ET and have been taking HU 500mcg daily for nearly 4 years. My platelets reduced from about 1200 to hover around 700-800 at each blood test. My consultant now says they need to be under control and as I have declined increasing the HU has mentioned interferon. I have said I will think about it

New to all this.
Im a 47yr old male and have recently been having blood tests after displaying all the standard underactive thyroid symptoms including huge fatigue. After being put on 25mg levothyroxine (to get me started on medication), the most recent tests showed a TSH of 3.6 (coming down from 6.2 on previous test

Differing TSH results
Hello Firstly, thank you for all the useful information and advice. I started taking 50mcg of levothyroxine in June and had a follow up blood test at the end of August which showed my TSH was 2.54 (0.27 - 4.2). The GP did not increase my dosage of thyroxine and I did not have the energy to push for

New here, undiagnosed, Normal TSH Low T4
Hi Long story short - I have had many Hypothyroid symptoms for many years and after having had some private bloods done I finally managed to get my NHS GP to request a T4 test which she accepts is low and confusing for her as my TSH is normal. She has said she will ask an endocrinologist for advice

Has anyone tried transcranial magnetic stimulation for depression or ADHD?
I've tried a lot of medications, therapy, behavioral coaching, etc. with limited success. I'm looking into transcranial magnetic stimulation and wondering if anyone here has tried it and if you find it helps your depression or ADHD symptoms.

Feel worse on 100mcg Levothyroxine. I felt better on 75mcg. I’m not over medicated. Is this thyroid gland suppression?
I’ve been taking 100mcg now for around 5/6 weeks but i feel worse now than when I was on 75mcg. I’m due to retest in a few weeks. I’ve been trying to figure out why I feel worse. My lastTSH on 75mcg was 0.3 and my T3 was 52% through the range. So I know I’m not over-medicated and 100mcg has probably

Blood results
I was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2015. I was treated with 50 micrograms of levothyroxine daily until this March when my Tsh finally crept above the Normal range.(0.55- 4.78). My dose was raised to 75 micrograms. At my 6 month checkup my Tsh had dropped from 4.91 to 0.38. Thanks to the information

Satisfactory Serum free T4?
Hi everyone, First time posting anything but my latest results say satisfactory T4 result, as a comment from the health professional. The result is out of the range so I am wondering if I am being fobbed off. Results as follows: TSH - 1.64 mIU/L (0.38-5.33) Serum free T3 - 4.8 pmol/L (3.8-6.0) Serum

Minimum time on levothyroxine dose before testing levels
What is the minimum time someone should be on a dose of levothyroxine before checking thyroid levels? NHS GP suggests 8 weeks. I had a TSH of 48.2 and FT4 3.9 and started levothyroxine 50mcg daily. I saw a private Endo who said to titrate up to 75mcg for 1 week and then go to 100mcg. I had been on 100mcg
