Gp just rang...🤔
Hi everyone ❤️ A gp as just rang asking me to see her today at 4.45, I have no doubt this is in relation to the letter I wrote to the practice manager in the awful treatment I have received by the surgery concerning synthetic thyroid medication they have been pushing on me the last 5 years. I think

Hypothyroidism and Statins
Diagnosed with hypothyroidism 25+ years ago which has been successfully managed since then (75mcg Levothyroxine.) After many years of resistance to taking statins took the plunge and began medication in the springtime of this year - 20 mg Atorvastatin. All ran smoothly for 3 months with no side-effects

I'm fairly new to this. I got a Hashimoto's diagnosis at the beginning of the year and started on Levo in January. My TSH wasn't massively high (6.3) but I have symptoms so they agreed but started me on a really low dose of 25mcg. I recently increased to 50mcg and have just had my bloods to review

Advice T3 vs TSH levels
Hi All - I've been following advice on supplements and timing of tests but NHS has problems with results and need advice as what to do - I take Armour NDT with Levo. Haven't had a conversation with them about it, changing practices and moving back to the states for a period of time but will be back

Is it ethical for GP to withdraw thyroid meds with no notice?
I've been on combination Levo and Armour for 20 years or so and well since 2016 when and NHS endo sorted out the levels and backed NHS prescribing Armour. On Monday the Armour was removed from my repeat script. I moved 2 years ago and the new GP's have written the script because I have the backing

High T4 level
I need help please! I’ve had an inactive thyroid for over 25 years, my age is 57. Over the years I have decreased the thyroxine to 100mg from 175mg. I recently did private blood tests as I’ve been trying to lower my cholesterol. All results were good but my T4 was very high of 20 pmol/L. My TSH was 0.7

Feeling hyper - why?
Below are my results from last week on 2 grains of armour for about 3 weeks, reduced to 1 for about 2 weeks then half for another 2. I reduced because I felt really unwell. I stopped entirely for 4 days and yesterday I took 50mcg of Levo. I feel like I’m on a stimulant. I’m not complaining as up until

Advice needed (again) from you lovely people
Me again. I’m so sorry for the long post, thank you so much if you get to the end. Advice from lovely people on this forum ~7 years ago was great and I can’t thank them enough. I pushed for my GP to investigate further and although she disagreed my B12 was poor (it scraped into the range when the GP

Increased anxiety…
My last blood tests showed I was under-medicated, with a low tsh. I’ve booked to see a thyroid specialist and will be having a whole raft of tests done in the next couple of weeks (I think ….thyroid, cortisol, vitamins, sex hormones). The problem is - anxiety. I’ve had it for years on and off, low-ish

Help for a friend please
Please could someone have a look at my friend’s recent blood test results. Some years ago, she can’t remember when, she was diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism and given medication for this. She can’t remember what this was or the dose but the doctor told her to stop taking it after a short while

HRT and Thyroid function (non-medicated)
Afternoon everyone. So after months of getting nowhere fast, my GP results confirmed that my estrogen levels are very low after my repeat test after 6 weeks. Delighted to finally get somewhere! They have prescribed evorel 50 patches to start. As i expected, they won't do anything about thyroid as the

T3 and magnesium / electrolyte supplements: I messed up, but is it just the supplements to blame?
I have been on the same dose of T4 and T3 for the last 7 months ( T4: 82mcg and T3:22.5 mcg). I was then diagnosed with ADHD end of April and started taking Lisdexamfetamine plus electrolyte supplements. (Magnesium citrate, plus : Electrolyte complex - Ingredients: Calcium salts of orthophosphoric

Update
Hi All I was prescribed 15mg of prednisolone June 24, after the first three weeks on 15mg prednisolone I had blood tests 16 July CRP down to 8 which was great as I was 19 before, Thyroid results TSH 4.7 (Ref Range 0.27-4.5) FT4 15.4 (ref range 11-23) so both outside reference range, previous blood

Recommendation request for 2nd opinion and interpretation of results
I'm looking for feedback (via private DM please) from anyone who has been seen by Mr Barnes (Endocrinologist) at Tunbridge Wells or a Dr Christine Suppelt, Rose Cottage Clinic also in Kent. Would appreciate any perspectives on either clinician, both of whom I found on the Thyroid UK practitioners' list

Low TSH and decreasing T4
Good morning. I've been having frequent blood tests as my TSH has been below range for quite some time. I had an appointment with the GP this morning and my TSH is even lower at 0.06 (sorry didn't get ref range). He advised that this indicates that I am over medicated, but said that he wouldn't decrease

Is it a thyroid problem? Stories from those who found it wasn't would be welcome.
I've just had an update with my private thyroid doctor who was very helpful when I sounded the alarm on my current meds, and brought my update forward. For a variety of reasons, not least that I'm once again left wondering if this really is a thyroid problem, I've decided to part ways. I've never had

what’s new?
I previously posted requesting any recommendations for a local endo and totally understand why this was shut down but thought it would make more sense to ask a separate question for the second part of my post. It’s now about 10 years since I last saw an endocrinologist and have been managing my thyroid

I’m fine. Really?
Brain fog is a brilliant description that no one can really understand until they experience it. I feel like my brain is surrounded by a thick cotton wool-like layer that makes me want to just lie down and close my eyes - except that makes me dizzy. What the heck is happening to me? I’m 65 and moved
