Interpreting results

I'm fairly new to this. I got a Hashimoto's diagnosis at the beginning of the year and started on Levo in January. My TSH wasn't massively high (6.3) but I have symptoms so they agreed but started me on a really low dose of 25mcg. I recently increased to 50mcg and have just had my bloods to review after 8 weeks at 50mcg

My other test since on Levo only covered TSH, and showed that it had fallen to 2.6 on 25mcg. However based on symptoms it feels like it fluctuates

The test was taken at 08:40, fasting apart form water with last dose of Levo 24hrs ago

This weeks test results are below. I'm still experiencing some symptoms but do feel improved

Is it worth me asking to increase to 75mcg to see if there is further improvements in symptoms? From what I've read others seem to feel at their best with TCH below 1

TCH 1.9 mIU/L (0.27-42) 41.5%

Free T4 17.7 pmol/L (12-22) 57%

Free T3 4.3 pmol/L (3.1-6.8) 32.4%

T4:T3 Ration 4.116

Yes, request 25mcg increase but worth increasing at 12.5mcg as you hone in on your sweet spot 😉

yes

Which brand is your 50mcg

GP may be reluctant, but push for increase as a “trial” if necessary

You could initially increase to 62.5mcg daily….taking half a 25mcg in addition to 50mcg

Looking at previous post

Did you get vitamin levels tested or coeliac test yet

Thanks both. No I've not had vitamin levels or coeliac tests yet.

I don't eat a lot of gluten so suspect I'd get a false negative anyway. I suspect there is an intolerance but I don't get the awful symptoms that my son has, who is coeliac, and even he tested negative initially.

Do people get vitamin tests through their GP's or go privately?

When I asked for the 25 increase to 50 my GP seemed open to trials, as long as my TSH stays in range

So best to change to avoid all gluten

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

They might agree to test

Vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

Low vitamin levels are common with Hashimoto’s

If GP won’t test, test privately

Also my Levo is Accord

Accord don’t make 25mcg

Either ask to stay on 50mcg Accord and get extra per month and cut in half to get 25mcg (or in 1/4 to get 12.5mcg) using sharp craft scalpel

Alternatively

Mercury Pharma or Wockhardt make 25mcg tablets

Best to avoid Teva 25mcg as Teva upsets many people

My GP has agreed to increase with an additional 25mcg every other day. I've not got the prescription yet but the offer is positive, I felt like they listened.
