Sotalol
I have been prescribed 40mg Sotalol twice a day as a starter dose and now have been prescribed an increase to 80mg twice a day. I am concerned to discover that Sotalol is no longer recommended by NICE for rate control or rythmn control. I asked my GP for an explanation and his reply was rather vague

Drug interactions
Is anyone on Sotalol, anti-coagulants and Anxiety medication? I can’t take SSRI’s, as they have red flag warnings against them on my NICE drug interaction list.Dr has given me Diazepam, but it can only be taken for a short time as it’s addictive. If anyone could help me, I could look it up and discuss

Anti-inflammatories
Hi, I have been suffering over the past 6 weeks with Epididytisis and have had a course of antibiotics as well as an ultrasound (that was clear). When I spoke to a GP he was going to prescribe some anti inflammatory medication but soon realised he couldn’t as I’m taking Apixaban. I’m also taking Sotalol

Sotalol and bloating
does anyone suffer bloating, stomach ache and gas after taking Sotalol? I've been eating low fodmap for weeks to see if that made a difference but still couldn't figure out why I had bloating, stomach ache etc first thing in the morning after only drinking warm water. Thoughts on Daily Bisoprolol with Sotalol as PIP?
Hello, so my cardiologist has now increased my Bisoprolol to 2.5mg in the morning and 1.25mg at night as I had a couple of early morning ‘near episodes’ immediately on rising, we assume when the amount in the body was at its lowest. Given my adverse reaction to Flecainide, if I do have an episode, the

Help needed interpreting a Kardia report
The odd “quivering” heart sensation which I have now had for about 6 days continues every night. When I awoke this morning I took a Kardia reading whilst it was taking place and sent it off to Kardia for analysis. The finding is reproduced below. The bradycardia is known to my GP and cardiologist and

2 weeks and 2 days- unbearable
My 4 th night of no sleep and can feel myself getting more and more down in the dumps. I’m not expecting miracles, I’m not being impatient and am doing everything to take my mind off it, but here I am 2 weeks after my ablation with a heart rate of 144 which had been ongoing since Saturday. Back in touch

QT intervals
I'm experiencing Ectopic HBits with long intervals in between. Taking Sotalol, Flecainide, Digoxin and feeling very dizzy as going to faint. Anybody in this situation? Many thanks.

I saw my cardiologist last week and because of the increase in my AF episodes and continuing ectopics felt that a change of medication would be advisable and wanted me to start taking 25mgs of metoprolol 3 times a day to start with I’ve been taking 80mgs of Sotalol twice a day for 7 years following a

Guess what paid me a visit today?
Right ... it was afib. I was preparing dinner and l suddenly needed to go potty ... walked into the bathroom and it started. It’s been almost one year since the last episode. I immediately took a sotalol and drank a small can of tomato juice (someone on here recommended) ... prepared my bag and off

PAF suddenly much more frequent
I take sotalol and apixiban for my PAF and had moderate 3 day episodes about twice a year for 3 years. This last 6 months the frequency has increased and I often have episodes from monthly to 2 weekly of late. I was discharged from my EP 2 years ago and now with GP. Was wondering if this is a sign of

Has anyone experienced intermittent atrial tachycardia? Comes and goes every few minutes for the last six weeks.
I have a congenital heart defect which resulted in me needing five open heart surgeries in childhood. When I was 28 (in 2014) I had my first episode of sustained atrial flutter, which my EP believed was caused by scarring to the atrium following my surgeries. I've had four cardioversions and four ablations
