I am 68yrs old & due to meet with my surgeon to discuss a right hip replacement on the 16th June & to say I am extremely anxious about this operation is an understatement & to make matters worse I have been in permanent atrial fibrillation for the last 2 months & my cardiologist has changed my beta blockers

Ectopic beats 18 months after Atrial Flutter ablation
Hi, hope you are all well. I have found a lot of great advice and reassurance from this group and have been thankful for all the information. My question is: I had a catheter ablation for Atrial Flutter in September 2019 and was given the all clear the first three months after the procedure. I was

I have been taking Xaralto for 6 months and Sotalol for about four months . Up to now I have had no side effects from either . Three days ago I had started my walk and my right leg suddenly went numb, it is still the same three days later ; Has anyone else experienced this ? I don't know whether to go

Afib and anastrozole
Does anyone out there have experience with how anastrozole (breast cancer medication) affects their heart rhythm? I had PAF controlled fairly well with Sotalol for 3 years. In January I had to start anastrozole (it's an aromatase inhibitor). The literature says it can cause some arrhythmias and I read

Upper body muscle pain
Here's another question to my fellow afib sufferers.... I am on sotalol and apixaban and have been since November last year. I seem to tolerate both quite well, however more recently I have developed Upper body, neck and shoulder pain which is worse in the night. This may be totally unrelated however

Fingers crossed ! Sotalol
Hi all. Been to back to the hospital today and it sounds like good news. They have taken me off Bisoprolol and put me on Sotalol (40 mg twice a day). I am so pleased to be off Bisoprolol. I don't want that to put others off from taking it as it ticks the boxes (for me) regarding lowering my HR. We are

High Blood pressure with taking Sotalol 80mg 2x a day.
I wake up (as soon as I open my eyes) feeling like I am having a panic attack with my heart racing and blood pressure sky high. I shake and struggle to breathe. This last until my BP goes down. Anyone else who experience this?

Thinning hair
Hi there, this is not a question, but thought this would be the best way to feedback what my doctor said about my thinning hair which seems to have got worse since I was diagnosed with afib. My doctor is adamant that apixaban and sotalol are not the culprits and it is more likely the sertraline I have

Advice on episodes of fast heart rate, please
Hi all, bit of background, successful ablation January 2020 for AF. Don't drink or smoke, no caffeine, lost nearly 5 stone, regular long daily walks, good diet. I take sotalol 20mg twice daily, ramipril and amlodipine, both 5mg, rivaroxaban, lanzoprazole. OK since ablation until few months ago. Since

Sotalol v flecanide
I feel lost with my current position. I suffer with PAF and ectopics. My cardiologist and nurse recommended flecanide and arranged a blood test to see if my heart was ok . I asked about echo and ecg . In wales they don’t do that they said . So I’m all prepared to start flecanide. Out of the blue a letter

Hi guys. Currently taking bisoprolol 2.5mg. Hopefully going to be having an ablation this year at some point so will 🤞🤞🤞🙏🙏 be coming off this ASAP! I was recommended to go on sotalol by EP but I started to get less symptomatic on the bisop so I said I’d rather stay on this. Just thinking I might

Sotalol
I suffer from PAF about every 2/ 4 weeks for about 5 hours. NHS consultant suggested flecanide and now changed her mind and suggesting SOTALOL 40mgs twice a day ? I also have ectopics.
