I'm pleased to hear that it suits you. We are all so different in what medications work best for us. I tried Sotalol but it did nothing to stop my AF. We don't often hear praise for this drug, so it would be good to hear from others who find it controls their AF well.

I am on it a month now (dx via loop monitor) but still experiencing what I call “grinding sensation” in chest that moves into side or groin. I talked EP into allowing me to trial 40mg twice a day eg: lowest dose as I react badly to drugs. So far had crazy thirst, migraines, blurred vision, chills, head pings (some of this happening prior to taking it) but the best thing it’s done has reduced my “orthostatic tremor”.

After a bad experience with Amiodarone i have taken Sotalol for several years with no apparent side effects. So once again it's apparent that the trick is to find a drug that suits you, bearing in mind that other peoples experience is not necessarily relevant in your case.

I've been on sotalol for about a year now. I started on 40 mg 2x daily and started getting asthma symptoms but no AF and none of the horrendous effects from bisoprolol that I've been on. EP reduced my dose to 20mg 2x daily and no AF no asthma or other side effects. Perfect (so far)

I’ve been on sotalol for a couple of years. 40 mg twice a day was ok, but didn’t control my afib. New dr insisted that was a dosage for children and upped it to 80, which has left me exhausted and dizzy. He wants to try a different med and I’m being stupidly hesitant. Only because it involves a hospital stay to switch. I think I’m about ready to give in! Interesting though how drugs affect us all so differently. I think docs sometimes forget this and just go by their dosing data.
