First NHS results
Ok I’ll try this again lol Here’s the results I received today. I’d like peoples opinion on them if you wouldn’t mind. Thanks again for everyone’s support up to now. There was a photo here before but the numbers were hard to see so I’ve resorted to typing it out. LFT -normal-no action Serum

Can we eat tomatoes with CKD?
Hi everyone, we are told not to eat tomatoes on a CKD diet and I havent for the past 6 years. I have just read a post from Mathea Ford, we’ll known renal dietician, to the contrary. She says fresh are the best source of tomatoes as they do not have any additives that can increase the sodium, potassium

Discussion about Xofigo with my oncologist today
I met with my oncologist today and we discussed the use of Xofigo. He asked me if I would consider starting it and I told him I was concerned because I heard recently of quite a few people who have had their blood numbers "crash" after using it. I always thought that it was something you did when everything

Ckd 3 diagnosis
I have recently been diagnosed with stage 3 ckd. I’m devastated to say the least. I am 52 years old. I have hypertension and have had to use NSAIDS for years for pain. I can no longer use them. My gp thinks this may have cause it. I have tried Tylenol and it seems to make me bleed also. I initially had

Vision Loss after Chemo
Wondering if anyone has had vision loss after/during chemo? I just got my 5th dose of Radium 223, a couple of days later my right eye was blurry and then I lost 80% of vision in that eye! The Oncologists say not tumor related and the opthomologist say they don't see anything wrong either! (After a

Perhaps not utilising B12 - how to know? what to do?
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I don't *think* I have PA but it's one of several possibilities that I'm looking into. My profile has more info and you're welcome to stalk me on the Thyroid UK forum if you like. ;) but I'll give a brief background after my question here. Is it possible to have high B12 levels

Starting school in nappies
My 3yr old son (4 at the end of the month) is still in nappies and I am very conscious that he is due to starts reception in September. Wondering if anyone has any advise on how to manage him still being in nappies when starting? He’s had ongoing constipation issues since he was a baby and shows no interest

I've been put on Ferrous Fumarate and can't tolerate it. I think I've read that this isn't the "best" form to take - am I remembering right? If it's true, does "best" mean most easily aborbed, most effective, or what? And what's best for correcting low ferritin? My ferritin was very low a few weeks ago

Calcium Citrate (with vitamin d3) for IBS-D?
I have been struggling with my IBS of late. I am on a vary blan strickt diet which I have brought upon muself - mainly consisting of boiled potato and chicken. Even with my strickt diet, after dinner I always feel uncomfortable (that's the easiest way to explain it). So no matter what I eat, I feel as

First HM soon - how to overcome the laxative effect of running?
Oh dear, my mind, lungs and legs may be willing but my bowels are weak. A few weeks ago I had my first running "accident". I now seem incapable of running without needing an emergency pit stop, even if I have evacuated before heading out. Last week I had to dive into the woods and emerged with my legs

Selenium & the Vitamin E Cancer Prevention Trial (SELECT).
Darryl mentioned SELECT recently, in the context of being careful what we put into our mouths. I might add that researchers should be careful how they spend their money. & SELECT was expensive. 35,533 men for a planned 12 year intervention trial. Four arms: 200 µg/day L-selenomethionine &/or 400 IU
