IBS D at night! what can I do to help get to sleep?

I suffer bad IBS D in the morning but sometimes it strikes me at night also. I'm away with my partner for the weekend which means eating out and now my stomach isn't happy. I feel nauseas and very burpy which isn't going off so I'm struggling to settle. Has anyone got any tips on how I can settle and get to sleep. I've had some Imodium but my Stomach is still feeling very sensitive. Any advise would be really helpful. Thanks for reading, any help right now would be massively appreciated!

Hi, stress, nuts, seeds and gluten were my triggers for my sensitivity. It took me a long time to find out what caused mine. Once I realised this life became a lot easier. To help with inflammation I have used Forever Aloe Vera Gel drink. Also, I eat probiotic yoghurt most days to keep my gut bacteria at a healthy level

I also always have Immodium with me, when travelling to unfamiliar places I always take two before I go out for the day, just to take the stress away from not knowing where the nearest toilet might be. I have safely travelled all over the world over the last three years to cities such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Sydney.

Another technique I use if I am starting to feel stressed and have an urge for the toilet is to count backwards from 100 with the image of each number in my head. Most of the time by the time I have reached 30, the urge has gone. Allowing me to find a toilet, it is a technique that needs to be practised though.

I hope I have been of help to you and wish you all the best.

You should take the Imodium AFTER you have a Bowel Movement, 2 to start with as it says in the instructions, you should then begin to feel more yourself after 15mins to half an hour, apart from that I find that one 10mg Phenagan helps me to sleep - its a hayfever tablet and anti-sickness tablet when travelling, however it is also a MILD Sedative, so really is good for a good nights sleep - most Chemists sell it and you can get it online. Good luck!!
