After 30 years of living with the affects of radiotherapy I found this community after a Google search for remedies after the doctor only advised imodium. I have found it to be a very emotional discovery as I didn'teven know PRD was a thing! Has anyone tried peppermint oil tablets? Do they help

Diazepam addiction.
Hi, I have been addicted to diazepam for a few years and have finally tapered down over a few months to 1mg per night. I honestly don't think it is strong enough to matter but if I don't have one just before I go to bed I cannot sleep. Also would taking magnesium oxide and 1mg of diazepam interact

Advice on tablets if liquid thyroxine is still unavailable.
Hi all Having seen my GP today to discuss the lack of liquid thyroxine, she tells me that they cannot just discontinue providing it on the NHS as there are several patients that can't take thyroxine in any other form. It seems it is all cost related and pharmacies don't want to order it and be out

Just got my bloods back and would appreciate any advice what all these could mean and/or how I can myself get well(er) as I am not at all convinced this knowledge will ever come from my clueless but kind GP and NHS Endo. By way of background, thyroid disease runs in my family, and I have had years

Advice on Medichecks Results Please
Hello, my first time posting! As advised on this forum I stopped Meds 24hrs before test, it was at 9.20 in the morning. The only supplement I take is Colecalciferol 800unit capsules prescribed by GP as at one point I had extremely low vitamin D. I’m on Levothyroxine 100mcg daily (Accord). I was diagnosed

imodium and buscopan
hey guys just wanted some general advice on taking imodium as well as buscopan? Imodium for the diarrhea and then buscopan for the cramps? (I am also on Amitriptyline 10mg) would all these together be too much? I seem to manage the diarrhea but recently I am getting more cramps too which don’t subside

Iodine in yoghurt...and the possibility of it interfering with correct blood test result.
I am dairy free and I have just had my Thyroxine reduced from 125 mg to 100mg. My question is that the Tesco plant based soya plain yoghurt that I normally would have, now has iodine added. One fifth of a pot, my normal consumption, contains 45.0µg iodine. I am due to have a retest to see if the reduction

Magnesium for RLS
Merry Christmas! While I've said the below in various Replies, I thought I'd put it in a post. I've been taking at least 400mg a day of magnesium citrate for some years now, since I had it recommended to me by a relative: 600mg a day initially stopped my RLS within days, and 400mg a day (the amount suggested

Anyone Used Pascoe B12 Depot (Hydroxy)
Hi Guys and thank you all for all your help in my previous posts.... Has any one used Pascoe B12 Depot and did they notice any difference to Panpharma (Rotexmedica) Depot Hydroxy? I know it is stronger and there is only one different ingredient to Panpharma being Sodium Chloride instead of Sodium

MRI with Iodine
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Currently on 10mg and experiencing aches On Wednesday I had MRI with Iodine for contra imaging. All went well, Thursday no pain at all, Friday big pains again, so iodine for me at least was good. Plus I will add I flew to Spain on Thursday. It’s just

Request for assistance in interpreting blood test when GP is satisfied but I am not, and still feel terrible...
Hello, first post here after a couple of months reading. I was diagnosed hypothyroid about twelve years ago and given radioactive iodine treatment (and little alternative - I knew very little then and was scared into it by talk of heart attacks, etc). Since then I have been on levthyroxine. My dosage

Gutted after consultation
Carrying on from my previous posts, I spoke to a private consultant again tonight. He has a good track record apparently and is a surgeon too.Anyway I emailed my recent results and he said I wouldn't benefit from T3. He thinks my blood tests are all ok and within range. over medicated and breathless
hi, 25 years ago I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease, can’t remember results but I was severely underweight, terrible tremors, sweating, resting heart rate was around 140 and had little to no voice. At the time my personal circumstances meant I couldn’t have the recommended surgery or radioactive iodine
