What to eat during a crisis? (No water or power)
I live in an area where we get hurricanes and we usually buy canned food to get through while we have no running water or power. With my recent diagnosis i can’t eat prepackaged, high sodium foods. What do you guys do or would recommend for a situation like this?

Low Dose Tetrahydrocannabinol and Melatonin for Better Sleep and Cognitive Function
Hello HealthUnlocked Members, I have been on ADT continuously since February 2016 and in general I have tolerated Lupron fairly well to date. The hot flashes have diminished in frequency and intensity over time and bone density is normal for my age (65 years). I have found that exercise, keeping cool

Flucuationg blood pressure
In the past several months, I've been reducing my prednisone from 5mg to currently 3mg. I've had high blood pressure for many years and take three medications for it (despite implementing all the lifestyle changes). About 8 weeks ago, my bp spiked to some very high levels...180/85. My internist added

Recent 2020 research report, and one in 2017 showing Xofigo may have a much higher risk of serious side effects on bone marrow than thought!
Unfortunately, some of us here have been suspecting this, due to personal experience: "Twenty-three patients received Xofigo at UF Health, and one was lost to follow-up. Sixteen patients (73%) completed the full course (six doses) of Xofigo, while six did not. Ten patients (45%) developed pancytopenia

SNAC and B12 (and other absorption enhancers)
Eligen B12 claims improved absorption due to SNAC. The testing was done on a small number of "normal" subjects - and the paper is from 2011. Any opinions on whether it has any role whatsoever in confirmed Pernicious Anaemia? Or even just B12 defiency that does not appear to resolve by using standard

Finally getting somewhere... hopefully
So I haven't posted in 4 months as I was waiting until I had something more to report. I had my 12 week lupus anticoagulant follow up test and this came back positive again with a note that if this is not caused by lupus then it needs following up. The luoys unit have signed me off so haven't looked

Hey everyone.this is just my 2nd time posting here. My dad is currently in hospital since Thursday. My heart is broken we can't even see him. He has been battling prostate cancer over 7 years. We were told then it was incurable and that he had 2 or 3 years left. He had a great quality of life up until

Alternative therapies: what I've learned
I've been on the PMR journey since 2014, and the pred episode since 2015. In that time I've also had an osteoporosis scare. Those interested in what I did about that can read https://healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk/posts/137578304/my-osteoporosis-journey - a bit dated now, but successful anyway.... When

Has anyone else been told to come of steroids and take Naproxen instead? I have been told to reduce from 5mg to zero (4mg this week then 3 then 2 etc )and use Naproxen instead as I’ve got low sodium I’ve had it before when I was first on Prednisolone and have had it since January it despite adding salt

Ibs d and not keeping well
So had a flare up last Sunday. Was feeling better in the week. But this Saturday got up with a doggy stomach again. Feeling so down and frustrated. Don’t know what to do. Had a good eight months before this with absolutely no problems. So frustrating. Also would like to know how do people who have to

IBS D obsessed
Hi I have had IBS d for many years. I take Imodium daily just lately because most days I am in situations such as work meetings, places with no toilet or just worry that I will not reach a toilet due to previous attacks. The truth is though I may not actually need the Imodium as I haven’t had a bad attack

Increasing Levothyroxine made my blood work worse
I'm new here but absolutely desperate for some answers. I’m sorry this is going to be long. I was diagnosed hypothyroid back in 2013 and did okay on 25 mcg/day of Levothyroxine. My TSH was never ideal, often a bit above the acceptable range, but whenever they tried to increase my dose I got tons of
