Thriving!
From early October to last week - what a difference eh?! Matthew is thriving now that he has his stoma and he's piling on weight. He's now 7lbs 4oz - still miles behind his chunky brother who weighs a few pounds over a stone but he's getting there. I don't wish his journey on any of your babies but if

Asthma or Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
Does anyone here suffer from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis? Either with or without asthma? I’m curious to know how a GP might rule out idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis when patients present with asthma symptoms .

Under active thyroid and asthma
Just wondering if anyone has heard of/experienced a link between an under active thyroid and asthma? I’ve been feeling tired, achey and cold recently and yes I did the classic Dr Google who churned out under active thyroid. Now they’re could well be another, perfectly logical explanation but it also

Colorectal surgeon
I have severe endometriosis and am under a specialist team, wondering can the bowel surgeon take charge of the whole process? He's really pushing me to have a hysterectomy saying he can't reverse my stoma without removing everything basically. I'm 32 and don't want to go through all that anytime soon

A great hospital experience (if such a thing exists 😅)
Cue LOTS of nebs, and a chat about
asthma
with the para whilst we waited. He’s niece has
severe
asthma
so he was very knowledgeable- knew HR issues where the asthma, not the meds, knew not ever asthmatic wheezed etc etc.

Giving cpr effectively with asthma?
CPR with asthma. I’ve searched and found lots of advice for cpr to a patient with asthma. I’m a sports coach with recently diagnosed asthma and first aid trained but not yet fully managed and my concern is that I might not be able to effectively give cpr. Is it possible to administer cpr with reduced

Cough Variant Asthma
Is cough variant asthma harder to treat or diagnose. There seems to be a lot more people diagnosed with it, which is good that it’s being recognised. I was diagnosed 13 weeks ago and am on my third change of medication, Forstair 200/6 now and my second lot of prednisone. I never wheeze, my peak flow

Asthma - temporary worsening
Hi, I wonder if I can get some advice please. In the last few weeks my asthma seems to have got a bit worse. I use Airflusal 250 and that works really well. I also use prednisone 8.5mg per day. Is it normal for Asthma to come and go?, I mean have a few weeks where it gets worse and then it gets better

Cardiac asthma and asthma
How to know if I have cardiac asthma (heart dysfunction) or normal asthma? After my researching they seem to have similar symptoms. Lately I've been experiencing shortness and hard to breath fully, sore and dry throat, cough, dry cough mostly and the cough is controllable. I sometimes feel sharp pain

At what point do I really need to go to A&E?
Few months later and having seen asthma nurse and gp a few times and having inhalers changed over and/or strength increased I'm told I have possibly
severe
asthma
with copd which is difficult to control. Mm.
