first asthma attack
Wondered if any one can help me... I've been asthmatic since I was 12 and am now 25 but until the last 2 years I only ever had ventolin when I needed it then put onto becotide and now am on seretide as I've gradually got worse. However I've had a flu type virus that went onto my chest and on sat night

Could my sleep problems be caused by Singulair?
I started taking singulair about two months ago and as the weeks have gone by my asthma has been better controlled but I am lacking in energy, have aches and pains and have a very fast heartbeat every night. I would love to stay on singulair for the asthma benefits but wondered if anyone else has experienced

New user - Spiriva/tiotropium and a locum doctor
Hi. I've been looking at this forum for the last couple of months, but have just now registered to post this. Sorry for the long post! I'm 21, and was diagnosed as a child (5/6-ish). My asthma peaked when I was about 11 or 12, but had been fairly well controlled with salbutamol and fluticasone until

I am currently being seen by my consultant at my local hospital at a recent appointment he asked what I thought would improve my asthma? Which has been uncontrolled for last 3/4 years. Can't get used to new preventer after being switched off Becloforte
I had my six monthly checkup with my asthma nurse three weeks ago. I was stunned to hear that Becloforte (and Becotide) are being discontinued although I know this is old news here! My asthma is usually pretty well controlled with quite high doses of Beclomethasone, and I have had no problems in the

Seretide
Just a quick one, just been given Seretide to try (after 10 days on Pulmicort made me worse), do I need to wait for the effects to build up or should I see a difference pretty much straight away. Just wondered if the LABA part of it should work immediately? EDIT - And should I take it as I get up and

Heartburn and breathing
Sitting up most of early morning. Woke to severe indigestion. That burning taste, pain in chest and tight bloated tummy. Felt sick too. Peak flows have been on the low side but putting down to inability to blow properly due to sore back and constant stuffy throat and nose. Been putting stuffiness down

Pneumonia and Asthma
I have just come out of hospital after a seven week stint, and in a nutshell: (deep-ish breath) i had bacterial pneumonia in both lungs, as well as pleurisy and infection from an incrdibly rare bacteria, fusobacterium necrophorum. I also suffered respiratory failure and was on a ventilator for 11 days

Spirometry
I'm a little bit confused because I went for a spirometry test today because I saw a doctor a while ago as my asthma was bad and she increased me to 4 puffs of seretide twice a day and said i should have this test. So I went today, and I was really excited because the nurse said it was really good! I

Not controlled
Since being diagnosed a couple of years ago, I've never had my asthma fully under control. It's not what you would call severe, but it keeps me up at night, causes problems when even doing small things like hoovering, and I've been getting chest infections every couple of months. I've been on beclametasone
